Text Vs Audio
 

Before reading this post I just wanna say its not an actual argument as to which is better, because truth is audio is & thats from a txt head..but comments like this bug the fuk outta me




when they were like a txt head a few months back. Just stop sayin this shit, "its real rhyming" blah blah, its fuckin rhymes no matter how u do it kids so the whole audio is SOOOOOOOOOOO different to text argument is gettin gay. Its ALMOST as annoyin as RB heads comin over talkin shit, do what u like & stay it....eg. if u hate txt but do audio...if u hate RV stay at RB.

just felt like expressin it.

actually text is new audio is old because theyve been battlin with spoken words forever....but rarely on text...

& DV it aint a shot at u. Its just a good example of what i see alot.

I just feel this way, poetry is poetry no matter if u read it from a book or hear someone say it, the same shud be with rap.

i bet some original head is gonna come in here......

It's real simple...You need text to do audio...and so, someone who does audio well automatically negates a textcee

i think that text is better cuz u can read over what they say and see all the wordplay they r usin and shit but in audio it just sounds like a bad song. u cant even really understand everything they say unless you listen to it like 15 times and shit. with the argument over that it should be the same whether spoken or heard, thats a real good point but the fact is that text is easier to see everything in the verse....

man empire just shut up for once...

text and audio are cool...no hate should be givin to either...

You can use different types of disses in text, that is why I think the really good text heads have a tough time going audio. Believe it or not, there is no flow in text. Syllable counts don't fuckin matter unless they are horribly off, or you stretch the shit outta your lines. When people try to convert their text to audio, it seems rushed at some spots and too drawn out at others. The reason behind this is breathing and natural pauses, thus making the person sound off beat....

However, text heads tend to have much better punches and wordplay. It is easier to display your wordplay when people can see it. Plus people understand it better because they can go at their own pace. I think that text heads come up with better shit because they think of the punches first, and then they worry about making shit flow and all that other shit while audio heads worry more about multis and flow first and then they make sure the punches are tight.....

With all this being said, I am now considering myself an audio head. This has nothing to do with me thinking that text is wack because everything I just said should lead you to believe otherwise. I like doing audio because it is more of a challenge for me now. I did text for a few months and there are few on this site that can beat me, now I am moving on to other things. Text just got boring for me and audio is so new to me that I love every aspect of it.....I encourage everyone to try audio, but never forget where they came from :thumbup:

they are aight... but audio is much harder (good audio)... text is punches and everything.. and you can normally tell good flow in text.. but flow is pretty much out of text, and its all punches and personals and wordplay.. which i personally dont think is "rap", but more like poetry.. which is fine to.. cause i write alot of poetry.. but i think audio is more respected cause it takes more than just a keyboard to do it..

I Think It Takes Alot Of Guts To Do Audio......Text Is Jus Sitting Behind A Screen.....You Can't Really Make Up Any Real Personals Out Of This.......Unless Your Opponent Puts Sumthin Really Embaressin On There ProFile Eg. Age (Too Young/Old) Or They Are Really Bad......Audio: If You have A Really High Pitched Voice Or Your Sound Quality Is Really Bad This Will Probally Used Against You Eg. I Heard Alot Of Audio Battle's And Carson Jet Nearly Always Gets Dissed For His Sound Effects (Robot ect.)......Played But Effective......I Think It's Alot Harder To Do Audio....Gotta Make Sure You Get Absolutley Everything On Target....Flow Being Most Important..Because You Can Really Tell If Even One Of Your Lines Have Bin Streched.....Text On The Other Hand Can Be Hard Too....As It Can Be Closley Examined For Wordplay Multies Punches Ect. And Can Be Critisised Easily.........

I dont believe there is any argument here. They are both two compleatly different mediums that work and flow in different ways. Text is something anyone can do (not nececesarily do well) but any1 with a key board and a brain can do text.

Audio however depends on a lot more then just being able to rhyme, it goes into the producing side of rap. to be considered a good audio head is saying that you have a good rapping voice (a lot of people on this site dont, not naming names), its saying that you are able to flow well with the beat and that your able to mix your voice in well with the beat.

therefore, audio is a lot harder then text, you have to put in more effort to produce an audio battle over the net then you do just writing a few lines down. thats why once people get into audio, text becomes irelevant to them because they are beyond it.

There is a huge differance between text and audio.

What I don't understand...
Is why I'm always called out for text?
I've had one text battle in like 3 months. Can't people figure it out?

I like audio alot more cuz on this site with all the text battles goin on a decent punch will get overlooked all day- if your actually spittin it sometimes the emotion that your writing the verse makes the verse- I unno I find audio as more of a challenge, more fun, more exciting, and just all around better for me... I notice alot of sites like this all the "good" text looks exactly the same, but if you listen to audios at least here everyone got a different style-- shit is more fun for me.
