hit em up was not really too hot, and i love pac, it just wasn't a battler's diss. just a couple of disses, and rhymes. I think y'all who don't like ether, really don't understand it. Everything in the song is dissing jay z, you just don't realize it, it is full of sublimenals, the chorus is a sublimenal, in nearly every line, if nas ain't dissing jay z, he's referencing a jay z line, and flipping it back on him. it's just the references are from only album songs from jay. so many don't know em because, if it wasn't on the radio for a lot of you, you don't know the words to the song. lyrically though i think they are neck and neck, shine does not really have consistently sick lyrics, but his voice is unbeleivably grimey and so is he, so it makes you give him a lot of credit than he deserves. 50 won't retaliate because they don't wanna give shyne any attention. He figures if he fires back at shyne then that will make shyne's rep bigger then what it is, which it is already getting up there so he won't diss shyne to keep him from blowing up even more. The smart thing to do would be just to lay back but if he needed more fans (which he doesn't, has enough already) or just wanted to prove a point he would fire back.
