Getting Signed?
 

I see all these threads talking about how people got deals and shit, but how? I mean seriously, how do these people even get heard of? I'm not trying to talk shit, or call people liars for saying they are signed, I'm just trying to figure out what people do to try to get heard....

Just send demo tapes to numerous lablels (sometimes it works)
Get off the net,go to some local battle spots .
Find some clubs that may be hosting some battles or open mic (producers be there)
Always keep some of your work (recorded) with you,just incase ...

Just some shit,i do ... It all paid off ...

dont take rv so seriously. That way you will put more effort into your recording.Sit back and actually think logically about what local label's are possible for you to sign to.
The people who are using all thre shit on rv most proberly wont get signed to quickly.
Im recording with a couple guy's from my local. But I am yet to post any audio on rv. Simply because it is less important to me.
I would rather lock my shit down distibute it to a few company's then post a few in soundclick for rv to listen to.because no1 from rv can or will sign me, unless they offer me airfare's and a place to live. But who is gonna take that risk with some1 thru the internet???? So 70% a my time is recording and writing for local record company's, Then in a short while Ill let rv hear what i have to offer.
I may just record a few tracks especially for rv.

I actually know the owner/creator of Dialect Int. who, in turn has connections to huge DJs and companies through his producer and advertisements.
DJs featured/worked with include DJ Xtent, and DJ Spinz(a'lot)<~~works with disturbin' the peace...

im into rv more then finding places to get signed but my city there is nothing...so after i move to ontario maybe ill find something and ill have atleast 20 songs before i move so..

Yeah.....thanks for the info. I just use this site as a way to elevate until I feel I'm good enough to go to record companies. How do you find local recording companies anyway?

my advice is take the best 10 outta that 20 and distribute them . that way you havent used everything and you will still have 10 more song's to fall back on...

you have to think of a game plan, your first mixtape or album that is actually in distibution will be either free or sold extremly cheap. It is kind of your advertising album. Not to make money. just to get your name out there into the company's. So dont use all your shit str8 away. because once you drop that first tape. you could get a call at anytime saying...
"xclusive we just heard your mixtape and we at ........ record's think you have somthing, would be interested in meeting with us to discuss a deal of some sort"
Then that's when you take your other shit that you allready have made into a mixtape. That way you can show them your serious because you have more than what they have heard.

So you pretty much never no when that call will come. You gotta stay ready.

You never actually no who is in the industry. were im from there are a few small record compnie's just starting and they struggling,but if they think you got potential to make them money they will get you in the booth, put you on one of there mixtape's and go from there.
you kinda just have to be serious everytime you spit in public, cause you never actually no who is connected and who isnt.

I'm setting up a label after I gaduate from college so I'm elevating here till then.

im not signed....but my dad owns a pretty decent sized record label in alabama.....so when i go there to visit or whatever i get free studio time....his label is mainly country and rock and shit like that....they are in all of those industries pretty big.......but all of those guys that are around the studio know how to make music...and they know rap.....so i listen to them for tips to make songs better.....im just gonna make an album and send it out when its done.....you have to have the heart to go after what u want...and if u wanna be a rapper...then go after....dont sit back and not do shit about it....im definitely going to be making moves....whether i make it or not in the industry........just tryin to come up
