Virus!!! Somebody Help A Brotha!!!
 

SO I did my norton virus scan today, and when I restart my computer I got this message on there, and I don't know how to get it off... Anyone use Norton 2005, or know how to help a guy out??? (Sorry for the big ass pic, but its the only way the error screen shot shows well)

ps.... whenever I click ok, the error message just stays up there....

can you access your my computer files if so search the virus in the files programs and folders search and try to delete it with wiping so it can't be recognized again. do a control alt del and make sure the virus is not running any side programs and you will need to end those tasks .... that is what my pops did last time we got one but i'm not sure how powerful the one you have is and i use that virus scan let me check my program...after that i don't know that sucks though...

Go to the Norton website and download the latest patch, you should see a link realtivily easy to find, once you get the most updated version then do another virus scan. When it pops up again, it will give a list of actions to take if it cannot automatically destroy the virus. Quarantine the virus at the very least. If you still can not get rid of the virus send and e-mail to Norton in there customer service area, and post a pic of that screen shot.

Take it to a computer store.. i had 34 viruses on my old computer and my dad took it in.. now its healthy 89%........

This will work for some basic hacks and such, but if his virus is a trojan or a worm or some shit worse than you run the risk of deleting only part of the virus, and in some cases it may be the only visible part. This has happened to me before, I've deleted stuff and succesfully gotten rid of it, but this doesn't work for alot of the shit you pick up off Kazza. First follow through with my steps and then wait and see what the people from Norton suggest. :thumbup:

try to quarantine the infected unrepaired file by selecting the options menu when you open up your norton virus scan program ... if that doesn't work ummm maybe consult an expert and hope you have a back up disc....

That should be automatic.....???? Give me some more info, which program is saying it. I'm pretty sure it should be an automatic command though. For example "Click Ok to run a system restore"

Nah it doesnt say a thing man... But I did find these for removal instructions...

1. Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
2. Update the virus definitions.
3. Restart the computer in Safe mode or VGA mode.
4. Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as Backdoor.Coreflood.
5. Reverse the changes that were made to the registry.

Run a number 2. Just to get current. Then a number 4. Then restart your computer normally. It should boot up like it normally would. While it's rebooting it will ask you if you want to run in Safe mode or VGA mode or Normal start up. Check normal start up if it's not an option then run in safe mode.

^no and no trojans cant be killed you gotta erase whatever files they in or they just grow and grow ill just send another one anyways

System Restore is found @ Start-Program-Acceserios-System Tools-System restore

See what dates you can restore to, if the only dates are after the virsu infection your still fucked.If its before, restore and everything should be str8.
Safe Mode....I done it a few times but I dont know what button you press....I think mine was F8 but idk and it chnges for every computer.If you look at the black screen whens shits loadin up it will says 'Open in Safe Mode.....' and then the one you have to press

but hopefully u can erase it, and make sho u save ur mp3 beats and etc.. so u dun lose almost everything...

and if u can at least Quarantine the virus then u can manually delete it, go to My Computer, click the local drive (C:), then system32, and find the folder that says IPXMOCTR.dll and DELETE IT....... now that should work, if ur computer acts slow after u system restore it......... lemme know...
