BMP--->JPG or JPEG
 

How do I turn a bmp file picture into a jpg or a jpeg? :(

it depends what you used to save it... what have you actually downloaded to save?? a music file or wht?

A picture. And I have a picture of myself that I saved on Paint, and it's in a bmp format but I need to change it to jpg or jpeg to upload it onto a site. =/

ryt go back on paint.... then open your file... then click save as and at the bottom it should have a bar where is says bmp as u have saved it as... click on the arrow and change it to j peg... hope that helps if it doesnt then hit this back up and i will explain it properly...

If that doesn't work, then you can download a program to convert it. Best free one I've found is XnView. Their website is www.xnview.com

all you need to do in paint is save it as somethin different than a bmp underneath where you name it

It doesn't work, I tried that, and I don't have enough space on my comp for that program :(

Try renaming it as a jpg?

why does it matter anyway?

Most hosting sites allow bmp's if thats what you want it for.

open it in ms paint and go to
file
save as
then when your saving theres a toolbar on the bottom...
click it and theres bmp,jpg,etc. pick jpeg and save it
and your done

I have somewhere b/w 1mb and 0 mb left...

jpg is just the 3 letter abbreviation for jpeg

and if it doesnt work then your doing it wrong because it does work...

Here is what you do...I always do it..if it dont work for you your doing it fuckin wrong



Open Paint

Open Your file

Go to Save As Again

Then Delete Bmp and Type Jpg or Jpeg..

and then Click Save...

then upload it

Yeah, that doesn't work, here someone go ahead and try to convert it. Maybe you could work on the quality a bit too. :thumbup:
