Slavery Vs. Holocaust
 

we had a discussion at school about this today. Which one was worse....and please come with facts or at least respectable opinions to support your decision

both were wrong but no race has got it as bad as the JEWS in history

slavery was worse without a doubt...

slavery lasted hundreds of years
holocaust lasted like 3...

I gotta say Holocaust, my reasons:

(1) The Holocaust killed over 6 million people. Slavery killed people yes, but not as many.

(2) The Holocaust performed unbelievably wrong experiments on people.
Example: Injected a pregnant woman with concrete to see how long it would take for it to kill her and the baby, and who would die first.

(3) The Holocaust killed thousands of people and didn't even try. People living underground and shit died as well.

(4) Even now people in Ukraine will kill you if they hear you hid or your family hid Jews.

this is a stupid thread.... but if i had to give an answer it would be the holocaust with out a doubt... the holocaust in ways is still going on today... the effects that it has had on the world is everlasting... the jewish population in the world is still down from where it once was or where it would be if it had never happend... im not downplaying slavery but in 5-10 years of the holocaust there were A LOT more people killed than in 200+ years of slavery... 6-10 milion jews were killed... end of story

You cant really argue which was worse, these horrific acts were worse to the people that actually went through them at that time,both directly and indirectly,both had an impact on society, BUT, if i had to choose one,like this thread implies,i'd go with the holocaust....pure evil.

*edit* I just read your last post and I think The slave ships were less moral due to the fact that there was more people responsible for them. But its hard too judge which was more immoral because they both singled out people just for being different.

the worse experiance people went through? and i take it that you say slavery was worse? read a fuckin book, u and troop both... goddamn! the holocaust was about a million times worse than slavery ever was... now like i said in a previous post im not downplaying slavery, it was a bad time for america and the world... but the holocaust was a time of unspeakable terror and evil. jews were nearly WIPED OUT as a race! the holocaust is still seeing effects today... if the holocaust had never happend the jewish population would be normal, but it is still way down. in slavery were people burned alive in an oven as there family stood in line to be done away with the same way... in slavery were people led to belive it was finaly time to take a shower only to be gassed to death by the masses?... were slaves experimented on and reguarly castrated? slavery was a horrible time in history, many people DID die... people were whipped and forced away from there family, but they were fed, kept relativly helthy so they could work... in the holocaust people were not fed half the time and when they did get to "eat" it was little to nothing at all... people were seperated from there familys never to see or hear from them again... some survivors of the holocaust that made it to liberation day who are still alive today still wake up screaming of the horrors that they had to endure in theyre time in the ghettos and camps... i ask you this... did the slaves wake up every morning to the smell of burnt flesh filling the air, wondering if it was theyre mother, father, sister or brother whom they are smelling being burnt alive? did the slaves awake to the sound of a screaming baby being tested on and then murdered?

I agree with M-Dog, you can't compare these. But, If I had to, I'd go with slavery, since it lasted longer.

No point in choosing one of them, both were sort of similar and yet so different but no one can deny the horrifying mistreatment that happened in time of slavery and the holocaust. Personally I have a better view on the holocaust so I know more facts about that than about the slavery but how can you even say one of them is worse. Both indicate a complete lack of respect towards human beings...

p.s. we will never know what happened during slavery to the extent of what we know happened during the holocaust, the holocaust had survivors that could read, write and had people that WANTED to hear their story and could get it out to the masses. Slaves werent taught to read and write, and ALMOST all of the white people could care less what the slaves went through

P.S. With slavery i dont just mean until the Emancipation Proclimation was signed, im talkin about all of the deaths at race riots, all the people killed by the KKK and other white power terrorist groups and all of the lynchings that have gone on way past the day the slaves were "freed".

They figured that they needed them (which is gay). And most of the slaves were criminals from Africa, they weren't just taking ppl out they house and saying, ''Your being sold." Most of them had criminal records and the King(I guess that's what the leader was) just wanted them out, so he sold them.
