I'm all about underground, its real...

i already made this thread before, but its all good....i gotta go wit Underground...more skilled, talented and jus way too many things to explain haha, i could go on forever...but yeh underground is all around better to me...even tho both are good :)

Both have there good and bad, for me Underground would take the slight edge.

I like to give them seperate values. Like if i have a underground cd and a mainstream cd, since i believe underground is better, i'd say something like this cd is good for a mainstream cd and this cd is decent for an underground cd. This proly ain't a good example but with the documentary i was like "this is good for a mainstream cd" and for Nigga Wit Attitued i was saying "well this is decent for an underground cd". Two seperate values. But if i had to choose one it would be underground because i'm sure that in the entire world there are more great rappers then just jay-z, nas, eminem and anybody else on the average mainstream list. There could be some undiscovered 2pac reincarnate that nobody knows about somewhere.

^^yo i agree with that, but i like underground better. i'm just tired of listening to a song then seeing some little 12 year old white girl tryin to rap it next to me, thinking she knows alot about rap. i don't know i guess i like underground cause not alot of people know about it.

umm underground i would say would win

If your talking about rap I can't choose because I rarely listen to rap nowadays.
But, if your talking about other genres like rock I'd say the unknowns are good.

underground rock and metal is dope too...

what the funny thing is, is that whenever these threads come out almost every single person will say underground..you will rarely find a mention of mainstream. But in nearly every other thread you can find 10 people idolizing 50 cent, game or some mainstream garbage rapper

Underground is way doper.

Sometimes i get in the mood for a little mainstream though..

Most Of Underground is shit, but you dont here that, theres a few nice artists, that stay to their roots or wateva. But I dont see the point in making music, and to not have as many people as possible hearing it. I know the industry apparantly tries to change you blah blah, but you cant exactly go wrong with a few hundred thousand dollars, doing what you like doing.

Oh yeh, and mainstream is doper mostly :)

Mainstream is more listenable and bumpable, while underground has more content, but I firmly believe that alot of this artist people try to call wack are prolly nice but feel as tho they have to make their music coincide with mainstream

But when you go mainstream they make you rap about what they think will sell, they make you rap about what they want you to rap about....therefore your not doing what you want to do and thus aint doin what you like doing
