Aiite... I been seein a lot of shit on TV lately... in Rap videos, rap songs, movies, and other media that is basically glorifying the ghetto as some great, cool place to live... A show on VH1 recently talked about "ghetto passes"... What the fuck? A ghetto pass? it's not something that i think would be coveted...

I grew up in a Detroit ghetto, eastside Detriot near a housing project called Bagley...Its not a fun place to live, or a place i want to live...

The ghetto isn't a bunch of thugged out homeboys chillen, got guns and nice cars, bitches and ho's, ganstas everywhere... it's not what you see on TV...

The getto is a place where you look out ya window, and theres a tall ass old dude wit Pink Shorts up above his knees, a Gray Flannel shirt, Pink sandals and black socks, an outfit he jus picked up at goodwill for 3 bucks...But A nigga that would still beat your ass if u made fun of him..

The ghetto is a place where u see 3 crackheads pushin a grocery cart around, pickin up anything they see on the ground, hopin they cuold sell it to get their next fix...

The ghetto is when u got a Heroin addicted mother, 6 kids livin in the house next to you, the mom not carin bout anything but her next Dip.. the kids hungry knockin on peoples doors askin for food..

The ghetto is a place where u see a kid walkin down the street, no parents, wearin clothes 3 sizes too big for him, lookin for someone to bum a meal off of...

Yea sure, u got gangs, violence, u got the homies u chill wit...

But i'm tired of people assumin the ghetto is a cool place, when they've never been in one, lived in one... The Hood is bein made into somethin cool, where people want to be, when all of us who live here only dream about makin it out...

The geto is a cold, vielent, poverty strucken place... My 2 older brothers were shot to death in front of me, 1 was the wrong dude, the other was because he stole from some nigga's dad... Shit is fucked up where i live...

I'm not sayin that nobody else on here came out the hood, i kno peeps onhere that have...

But for those of ya'll who havn't, the ghetto is not what we see in the Media...

Yeah, I saw that, and it wasn't really as funny as it was meant to be. I'm white, but I don't think the ghetto is a cool place at all. I have friends that live in semi-ghetto areas. It's not like rundown public housing, just regular one story houses...semi-ghetto. But I understand that people have hard times in neighborhoods like that, and there are even a few parts where I don't go. I'm not shook or anything, it's just either I have no reason to go there, or I know what can happen to a teenage white kid venturing into an all-black neighboorhood. But I understand that some white people live in the ghetto too, just to clarify that for you people :thumbup:.

^^^ Aint no "real ghetto" a ghetto is a ghetto.. and yeah house get broke into bout evry night where i live... And about computers.. i havnt had a computer since a year ago, my moms finally saved up enuff to buy one.. im still workin tho, jus graduated school, but i get on RV now and then jus somethin to do in my spare time... talk to dudes, battle sometime do shit like that...

i know what a time share is i own a few ... but to be honest that 69% is bull shit my uncle is a economics major and your statistic is completely wrong if you take the amount of "poor" people that are in america and took the amount of individuals that do come to money the ratio to poor people is still very very large. what i am saying is that there is a cycle to things... in most cases...<--notice ... but yes in most cases once you are poor you don't break the cycle it is just a common fact. most people that do come into money werent "poor" by any means they came from middle class families which is different from being poor in more ways than i can describe.. i admire ppl like your mother but i can almost guarentee for the 1 that made it that there are prolly 100 if not more than didnt make and thus they continue the cycle .... there are more individuals out there than the "finacially challenged african americas" i respect everything you stand for its just that you need to open your eyes and realize that life isnt always a happy story.... o yea hard work and dedication are nothing.. i volunteer at a local homeless shelter and alot of those ppl are very bright individuals they have just not been given the chances i have been given in life...

you came across as some rich boy that is hating on ghettos like they lower the standard of your rich living, but i get what ya saying about the whole cycle, it is true, some people can just not make it out the ghetto, but like i stated, its the individual, if ya put in enuff work, then one day it should pay off, maybe you wont be rich, an thats all good n well, but at least you'll have a half decent living, an a respectable one too.............
