Text tourny with an entrance fee?
 

Let me know what you think. I was tossing this idea around in my head to spice up the usual text tourny:

You donate $2, $5, $10, or $15 to enter the tourny.
Winner takes 35% of the pot on a $2 fee.
Winner takes 65% of the pot on a $5 fee.
Winner takes 75% of the pot on a $10 fee.
Winner takes 85% of the pot on a $15 fee.

Meaning if you aren't very confident in winning, you would donate $2. If there are 48 participants and the total pot is $400. This would mean if you win the tourney you would receive $140.....And $340 on a $15 bet....Not only will this bring compeitition and allow only the good heads (or rich) to join. But it will give you a chance to win some decent funds.

The entire forum will be hidden from the general RB public. So that the spamming will be reduced, and only paying participants and judges can see the secret forum.
All battles will be voted upon by myself, and four other impartial judges. You can request and recieve a refund up and till the day of the match-ups posting.

My question is would you enter? This would completely 100% legit. Fair judges, and the money without a doubt will be sent. There will be disclaimers and lots of other shit verifying the authentication of this entire tourney. All transactions on RB's behalf and your behalf will be made through Paypal.com

Well, if no one does it, no big deal. I wont start this forum then. But I know if this type of opportunity approached me when I use to textcee, I know for damn sure I'd join it. With money on the line, it makes things more exciting.

I mean RB is not some two bit five member ez board. We are one of the most well known netcee sites on the web. I wouldn't jeopardize the credibility of this site to rip anyone off. I worked to damn hard to build this entire community to let it go down the drain for shady actions.

If you do not want to join because you do not have the money. That's fine. However if you have the money and do not want to join because you cannot trust my efforts in making this sort of tourney. Then once again I must assure you this 100% legit.

By the way if this tournament does not work out or finish with a declared winner. Then Everyone will receive a complete refund. Even the first round losers.

ForeiGn. you must remember, though the money increases a hell of a lot more. It also makes it harder to win. There will be more competition. And battles will consist of 4-6 emcees battling each other at once.

Great idea,but a lot of people don't got credit cards,so that could create a problem.Which limits it to a very few....plus those with one willing to pay.But like you said,if people are interested,make the forum,if they aren't don't.Sll I have to say is that it doesn't hurt trying out a new idea every once and a while......

Also don't worry if other people will do it or not. If you can do it, thats all that matters. One by one we get more and more people until its inevitable for cats to join. And if it dont work out and we only get 12 people, I'll give everyone a refund. Or come up with another payment solution. Like take money orders, or checks or some shit. But I mean shit its the new century. Every muhfucka has to have a credit card. Im sure your parents do. Just say look I want something that costs $5.....

There's no sugar coating it. This is gambling. What is your point though? Everyone is well aware of this, and if not then now you are. However gambling on something like this sets limits. You cannot go into debt entering one tourney every two months. And rather then odds and luck, the winner is determined by skill. This is fair. A level playing field if you will. Without the casino's odds heavily weighing down to there advantage. This type of gambling eliminates everything corrupt and wrong with gambling today.

And you say this Net shit is supposed "to be fun." Are you saying with the element of money being existent, its less fun? I think it increases the proverbial "fun factor" by ten fold. Two dollars won't make or break anyone's piggy bank. And brings tons of enjoyment and competition in exchange. In addition this tournament is completely optional. If the money proposed is too much, or you find gambling intolerable by all means don't join. But don't come in here and discourage those of which who show interest in this idea. All you did above was state the obvious. Everyone is well aware what they are doing. Save the moral lessons for Oprah.

An yes, its tru shadows making money off it, but he's also providing it...Shit when you go to Real rap battles an like 1000 people come, at a 16$ door fee, an 1st place only gets 2000$ were do you think the other 14G's go??? Same thing goes here cept the winner will walk away with more of the pot than in a normal rap contest..

cash lost in I-net mail,that would be something new......if it is done through paypal,payments would be done through the i-net....so cash wouldn't get lost.....unless their was some sort of hack,crash,or other extremly rare problem that would probably never happen......

Not everyone has access to a credit card meaning Pay Pal or any other i-Net payment site...

so don't answer questions that don't concern you fool

Yah enough bickering. And for FYI debt-it and check cards are Visa sponsored. Therefore work everywhere a Visa credit card would be accepted.
