Hip hop isn't that big over here but I'm not afraid of showing I like it. I mean I don't dress all gangsta or whatever but I rap at school during the breaks and such, performed few times at school so people know I'm into that.

At first, they kinda laughed at it because the majority of people are more into rock and such but lately, they come to me to ask about rap albums, about songs and concerts so it's getting better...

lol.... i just starting audio... but in my skwl i would probably get critized for rapping... becuz i dnt seem the kinda person that could rap... i couple of people know that a rap and they like it... they ask me to do it in skwl for an event or somthing but i have really got the confidence so yeh i am kinda scared at showing it off in skwl....

^Felt the exact same way in the beginning, I refused to do a performance at school last year because I just didn't feel like dealing with all their bullshit and comments. But this year, I felt much more confident and people kept asking me to do it so I just signed up for it. Had major stage fright at first cause all these people from school, teachers and everything were sitting there so I had to do it good.

Now they respect what I do and who I am but trust me, it's not easy being a white female :) So yeah, was definately scared but overcame that...

Well a lot of people are ignorant, and when I go out they think I'm trying to be black. Really, I don't care what I wear. I bet somedays I look like a skate punk, and some days I look "hip hop". But nah, I'm not afraid, and neither is my friend, lol. Goes out with a blue headband and ish, it's funny as hell to listen to kids being scared of him.

^^I thought the exact same thing and I haven't really performed outside my school so far because well, at school you have people close to you and they'll stand up for you...

It's just a chance you'll have to take I guess but it's best to wait a little until you are confident enough. I wasn't exactly convinced I'd do well but I just went for it 'cause someone told me you should seize every opportunity so that's exactly what I did.

Just build it up...perform for small group of friends, then for more people...and so on...

In Australia the rapping scene is still growing.. Theres a lot of surfing and teenie bopper culture around which is fucking wack.. I play drums in a rock band, and guitar on the side. Trust me man, learning how to play an instrument and perform smoothly, while singing and shit is a lot more difficult than writting a few rhymes and spitting them. I understand that their is a lot of talent within freestyling and producing. But if producing is used as a point for rap, it could also be used for rock. Freestyling is really the only talent in rap. Rap is turning more wack as it comes. If you ask people what they think about rap, they think of things like G-Unit and all that shit right away... it's really going down. Mainstream is fucking wack. Anyways...Rock fucking owns Rap, sounds better too.

Rock is alright some times.. Theres not much culture behind it these days though in my opinion. That all died out around early 90's.. And a lot of rockers came into the big time but didnt really bring anything new or ground breaking with their style to the plate..

Who knows, maybe rock will die out.. Maybe it will keep trucking on the way it is now.. All depends on whos comming up as the next generation of pop icons in the rock industry..

People go through phases.. Thats why being origional with your music is so important.. Always make sure your exploring new styles of the industry your in.
