When The Good Die Young..
The seven o'clock shuttle was approaching the platform As I was presenting my bullhorns to transform swarms It was a stormy day, but I couldn’t be late another time In my prime, climbing mountains on the highest incline Was all I had in mind as the last line of people entered, The subway’s centre, the train made its departure… I made like Helter Skelter. Seeking shelter for the darkness, the final dash upon me My muscles tensed up, it’s just my life… Like Bon Jovi Burned it to a degree as the floor was melting behind me I was leaving debris in my path like a screaming banshee Was following behind me. I shoved through like molars and knocked over a stroller Made like a bowler and rolled my balls over shoulders It was a high rollers game but I needed to get to work fast At last I was standing there, but the train got the last laugh It sped away on the tracks as people glowered and stared Got a few “What the fucks?” from the homeless impaired I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared, ‘cause really I was The masses enclosed me, like bees presenting their claws I received a blow and a pause. Moments later I awoke dazed and confused on the tracks With no time to react… People were pissed with my ass A light approached fast, gases left my lungs expecting What God was presenting, I’d take it without reflecting On something I wasn’t suspecting. A kid jumped onto the tracks, knocking me way sideways If that’s what a train had felt like I’d be doing it on ‘Y’ days Amazed at the impact, the light in the tunnel approached fast With the horrid screech of tire tracks I screamed last Turns out I wasn’t dead, but I wish I was, guilt filled my lungs They exploded when I was ninety: ......................................Because the good die young. |
It all started four years ago...thats when we noticed it... Cody was sad, and he always talked about hoplessness... We were concerned...but we really didn't pay attention... It shows us how stupid we were just to be against him... ...The Club... Laughing...glittering lights, the blaring music pounded bass... Women were so hott, our jaws were stuck in an astounded face... Cody was pumped...he was confident he could get this chick... But all the other guys around him had a different estimate... But we didnt say anything...Cody had just lossed his grandfather... So we felt bad, because this shut down would feel like manslaughter... We all seen it coming...maybe we should have warned him in advance... The nervous look on Cody's face..........as he went to ask for a dance... We watched from a distance...chuckling at Cody's speechless expression... But our smiles faded...we knew that the conversation was reaching rejection... ...Two Years Later... "Oh shit...Cody's planning something stupid...gawd damn, once again... Doesn't he realize that this chick is stuck up, is that in his fuckin' head..?" To this day...........I still can't believe I spoke those hurtful phrases... Cody rejected again...this time he is destroyed, killed...brutally vanquished... The fourth one in a row...I was starting to get sick of it, we all did... But we shoulda been there for him...gave him something we could all give... We start to realize it...Cody was thinking some pretty stupid thoughts... Heavy into alcohol and drugs...........................he even grew some pot... One day Cody was drunk...bottle of vodka in him, he came up and said... "Look man... ...Another Two Years Later... We never saw it coming...I should have seen it from a mile away... Maybe if we woulda helped....we wouldn't be at this grave today... All of us were in a cirlce...huddling and weeping for our lossed soldier... 'Cause his entire life was a battle...but he had the war on his shoulders... Cody was dead...it was nobody's fault but ours for being so dumb.... The old saying is true...Cody's the proof............The good die young... |
wow that was a surprisingly good verse, i underestimated you by your record... nice drop... style kinda reminded me of eminem..

My vote is gonna have to go with L.E....... i was just feeling your verse my.... spoke more truthfully and from the heart..... good rhyme scheme aswell.... gongshow..... good verse..... just wasnt quite up to the standard that L.E. was at..... Aii LE Aii man Your drop was great Good Short and sweet not too Difficult to follow and Very Good on The concept and Yo vocab was on Q if you ask me not to stuffed with big words all meaning the same thing but yet it was good Personally i think that you take this one Gong Personally I dont think that your Structure was so neat but it was aii and your lines were very hard to read please try to not use that in the future kinda hard to see with the small print and all I think that your stroyline was good but not better than LE'z and your imagery was basic stuff (no hate) but I think That it couldve been way better considering yo topic so .....i couldnt give you my vote in this srry :( |

Damn this was a pretty good topical battle i was really feeling the topic.. Nice job to both .. both used some nice feeling going into there drop..some good emotions... i just felt L.E..edged it out alittle more.. to me he had more imagery..and used alittle more emotions..and feeling going into his drop..Overall this was a pretty good topical battle Gong..you came good too..just felt L.E edged it out alittle more on catching the readers attention..and imagery..
