Immortality?
 

Of course, there will most likely be life-enhancing pills if we don't blow ourselves up or die by some other stupid reason before they are invented. But would you live forever if you had the choice? I'd say for about 1000 years, or until the earth is destroyed. But I was talking with this guy about this, and he said he'd actually be immortal forever, drift through space forever until the universe is destroyed, because at the rate of expansion, unless it loops, it'll most likely collapse or some such. I don't know, but that's in billions of years.

He said he wouldn't mind, he's always been alone. But there is a difference between eighteen years and eighteen billion years. He said he'd keep his sanity the whole time, and wait for the process of the universe to come back. Of course, if this is the case and the universe is remade, he'll most likely be comprised of one small atom or something different then he was because of the nothingness and time which would possibly bring evolution about, I don't know. Who the hell on Earth really knows, anyway?

any scientific advance in the direction of immortality probably wouldnt withstand whatever destroys the universe, so i think it very unlikely that anyone would find themselves in the position of floating through space for a billion years as a single atom
to answer your question, i wouldn't take a pill that would make me live forever unless every possible scenario had been analyzed- for example, after 100 years, would your body begin to fail, and make life living hell? or what would happen if you got seriously injured, imagine living through a million years as a decapitated body... and after a million years, something will probably come up that was impossible to predict
i wouldnt mind a pill that gave me "immortality" for 100 years, and then just continuing to take them every 100 years until , and if, i wanted to die
probably never gonna happen anyways, but you made e think about it

i wouldn't do that because it would hurt seeing everyone i know and care about die....
life would be miserable and there ain't no denying it if you look at it from that perspective....

why is it people go to science for things that our God freely offers us?

Would you like to supply facts that say if I turn into a Jesus fan I'll live forever? Of course you can't. It's your faith, not fact.

1. If you yourself could live forever, and no one else.
And 2. you wouldn't age.

Why, in this situation, would I ask the question if you aged? It'd be an obvious conclusion.

..because I couldn't handle seeing grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc. dieing before I do. That shit would get depressing. You get close to somebody, then after 90 years they're dead and you're still there..
