Quick Question

So I don't seem like an idiot, the freedom of speech or any other amendment isn't incorporated into the internet, is it? Because not all viewers are american; even communists get on the internet, and I'm sure they don't follow the american constitution.

Crazy Hades 08-15-05 01:04 PM

The internet doesn't follow the constitution, right? Meaning we don't have freedom of speech or anythign else the amendments or Declaration of Independance states.

Crazy Hades 08-15-05 01:06 PM

o_O Not really. There are restrictions and such. People can't just go say 'you can't take out my site down because I follow the amendments!'

You're right. "Freedom of speech" has many restrictions as it prolly should.

Just to follow the crowd. There are certain things you can say, some things you can't. The owner of the site is the law, they decide what we can do and what we can't. *tips hat* YEEE HAW!!!! *rides into the sunset*

Tha Q. 08-15-05 01:22 PM

interesting...but, for some reason, kids think you can say what you want over the internet and get away with it. Well, think of the internet like the telephone. If you constantly harass someone on the phone, authorities can get involved. So, if you get online and threaten people, harass them in a harmful way, or do anything like that, then the person being harassed has legal right and precedent to make a case out of it. Most things said don't amount to more than "fuck you, blah blah I cud kick ur ass". But, I had one occasion where someone actually threatened to meet me at the store up the street where I live and end my life...blah blah...some homophobic closet case on a different site who knows I'm gay...Now, techinically, I could report that. He doesn't have the right to say what he wants just because it's the internet. However, he probably needs more mental help than incarceration. Free speech has never truly been free. But, I think it's free for the most part. I can say FUCK BUSH and not worry about getting beheaded, shit like that.

Crazy Hades 08-15-05 01:35 PM

Cerebral Approach wouldn't get as many responses, and as you can see it was generally meant to be a Quick Question, but I suppose that's not the case anymore.

Crazy Hades 08-15-05 01:36 PM

You're as different as a needle in a needle stack. But you're a gay needle, but you don't really show it, so you're disguised as a normal needle, unless your attire consists of hawaiin clothes.
