A Crew Tournament.


There are at least 8 - 10 active crews going on RV at the moment, possibly more and a lot claim to be the best crew on RV, what about a tournament to find out.

Layout would be like this......

- each week two crews would battle each other in a standard crew battle.
- the victorious crew would go through to the next round

- then the following week another two crews would battle.
- the victorious crew going through to join the previous winning crew in the next round.


.....the reason for doing them separate each week like that is to avoid cramming a whole load of shit in one week, then obviously each week the crews that are not participating would vote on the actual battle going on.

just a nice friendly tournament to find out who the best crew on RV is.


reason i put it here is to get more opinions, so what do you think, would it be ok and how many would participate.

Theres not enough 'good' crews... two, maybe three will be dope an the rest will get trampled on.

so its beneficial.........a lot of crews think they are the best, this wud be their chance to prove it...........and also the new crews can come out and show they are dope or whatever, or the dope crews just get the pleasure of stomping them :cool: werd

Why don't we just save time and have AI, TC, TE, and ES if they can stay active. They are the crews that will make it anyway.

It'd be fuckin dope but itd take AGES for the tourney to make progress. Single persons taking places in a tourney takes a fraction of the time it'll take to move something as massive as an netire crew. The tourney would be like 4x longer than any tourney before it. Keep that in mind, but hell, I'm still down bigtime.

you've got what, about 8 to 10 active crews that cud participate

then each week 1 crew goes against 1 crew
all 5 battles or whateva number is specified for the crew battle happen in the same week...............then the next week same thing with 2 different crews.

so if you had 8 crews in it........
1st Round would last 4 weeks.
2nd Round would last 2 weeks.
Final Round would last 1 week.

thats a total of 7 weeks. :cool: werd



P.S - to 9th Degree, if you are referring to the tag tourney that i started sign ups for......that is still happening, its just other tourneys were above it in line so it will happen as soon as those above get done.

7 weeks is almost two months, lol. Get my drift now? But in relaity, it'd take longer. Check this out:

Lets say one crew has 8 people which is an estimate and a low-ball one at that. Say we get 8 crews involved.

8*8=64 battles in the first round. 64!! Now in reality, no way is 64 battles all gona close in one week realsitically, for one round, 64 battles would take about 5 weeks to close at the current rate of voter activity IF it closes. Lets be unrealstic and say that Every round took exactly one week to give battlers time to submit work, and one week for that round's votes to al lcmoe in. that's UNREALISTICALLY 2 weeks per round. Reality would show more time spent, but we'll use it to make the example. 64 is the first round, 32 in the next round, 16 in the round after that, 8 after that, then 4, then two, and it's finished. that's 6 rounds. 6 rounds time the super-unrealsitic 2 weeks for each round to start and finish completely, that's 12 weeks. That's three months. That's how long a crew tourney of that size would take. One with 4 crews would take 6 weeks. And remember, that's MINIMUM time.

I could list 2 other reasons that this would take very long, but this is the example with the most user-friendly math.

I was talking about the one that actually happened. Ya know, it was all hyped up, SPuL was on alias with Triple_N, Flow and Voke thought they could win it again, Troop and CALI were gonna be in for a biiig surprise, and 9th and Pop Lotty were gonna destroy everyone.

It didn't even get past the first goddamn round.

you dont fuckin make everyone in the crew battle, JESUS.....TE got like 30 members, lol.........you have 5 battles like most standard crew battles......2 text, 2 topical, 1 audio or gfx............and i worked it out in my head and i have it lasting around 7 weeks, and that aint that long.......KORV2 was 6 weeks long!!

but anyway, i pm'ed strobeness and he put me on the waiting list.....so it will go up, whether it succeeds or fails is yet to be seen.

OBVIOUSLY you don't everyone in the battle which is why I said 8. I guarantee you a battle lie kthis will last at LEAST 12 weeks IF it finishes. 5 battles or any other number thna 4, 8, 16 or 32 = will guaranteed fail. But this math you say you have in your head, I'd like to see how that math works out if you don't mind.

Eight Crews Take Part.

FIRST ROUND.
Week 1 = Crew 1 vs. Crew 2
Crew 1 Wins.
Week 2 = Crew 3 vs. Crew 4
Crew 3 Wins.
Week 3 = Crew 5 vs. Crew 6
Crew 5 Wins.
Week 4 = Crew 7 vs. Crew 8
Crew 7 Wins.

SECOND ROUND.
Week 5 = Crew 1 vs. Crew 3
Crew 1 Wins.
Week 6 = Crew 5 vs. Crew 7
Crew 5 Wins.

FINAL ROUND.
Week 7 = Crew 1 vs. Crew 5
Crew 1 Wins.

....therefore Crew 1 would be the winners of the tournament and have the right to say they are the best.

wouldnt work, too many crews are inactive

even normal tournaments are filled wit no-shows, so imagine what a crew tourney would be like

i'll make it work............and there are plenty of active crews

The problem is that you're making "The Crew" as one person when it's 8 people in each of the 8 crews. That's (once again) 8*8=64 battles first round, 32 the next, 16 the next after that, 8 after that, thne 4, then 2. That's 6 rounds. Two weeks a round = 12 weeks = 3 months.
