Help with freestyling.
 

What are things YOU do to get better at freestyling? I really want to improve soon. I've been writing and what not for months but it still seems like I can't freestyle worth crap.

Whats your AIM shazz?

Well you NEED a style. Like if you're the type of rapper who talks about specific topics u can't just free about anything. I can freestyle BATTLE anybody and own. :) I can't just free when ppl say "Spit somethin" cause I can't use personals or anything. I need direction.

It starts with a "p" and rhymes with "practice".

writing makes it easier cause once you write alot them words stay in your head them punchlines etc...so keep writin then try an free...

Rap about how you feel. Like me, I rap about hating all races but cacaustions, cuz thats my passion.

^^1st of all, fuck the KKK.......... second, u can't learn how to freestyle........ u can become better by uppin your vocab........ what i do is start my free by sayin some wild shit, like a word or topic i wouldn't normally say, so i can get that flow that u need to flow for a while without repeatin yourself.........

Freestyle is so much different than battling don't even start..

Lol @ that. Matter fact, lol @ this whole thread. Really the main way to better your free'ing ability is to focus, and it'll come mroe naturally after some practice.

eh..just get your fav beat, and since its your fav, you kno everything about it right..just flow to it best as you can, and then move to different beats, and then you can just get better and better..but first before you free in front of anyone , try freeing infront of your best friend, and make sure he free's too, so you can feed off they energy...feel me this is how i got really good at it..

even if they dont take it seriously, make then joke around but take it a lil serious, make then try so you can feed off them..

Jay-Z was on the local MTV type channel we have in Canada and a caller called in an asked Jay-Z this same question an Jay-Z said 'Read'. Thas all he said was to jus 'read an keep reading'.

I'll add that the more you practice the more natural it becomes, so read an practice.

u can't freestyle if u can't rap.......... u can learn more words and become a better writer........ if u can write it, u can spit it.......... freestylin to me....... is like regular rap without the waste of time of writing......

Just practice. You dont need to do shit all else. You could force your vocab to grow by reading and shit, but as you get older your vocab will grow naturally anyway.

Why wouldnt you just practice? Whenever you can, spit a free.

Its like learning violin. Good luck going to a violin board and asking them to tell you some amazing strategy to learn to play. They would just tell you to practice.

I Can Free But Not Good At All

I Find Myself Rhymin Simple Words And Saying A Certian Line Over And Over Again

try spittin to yourself whenever u can............ then try spittin wit 1 or 2 of ur boyz that won't clown u if it ain't too hot......... when u get better u'll gain confidence........ the try rapping 4 small groups......... after that u'll get this fuck it attitude and u'll rap anywhere just bcuz u feel like it......... that's what worked for me.........
