Although he's been around for a little bit, Consequence is starting to get a little mainstream exposure. If you don't know of his solo shit, you probably know him from "Spaceship" on College Dropout, "Gone" on Late Registration, and "Wack Niggaz" from Talib's Beautiful Mixtape. He's now on G.O.O.D, Kanye's new label. So watch out for his new shit, kid's ill.

He had 3rd verse on Gone. I'm trying to remember which track he's on from Common's "Be" album, 'cuz he killed that shit too.

most 'underground' artists try to use a bigger vocabulary than they have, and that gets really annoying... i would rather hear somebody talk about what they know even if that is money and hoes, after all.. who doesnt love money and hoes ;)

me, I think Papoose will not do good on a mainstream level. I just dont see his style tranferring over to a larger fanbase.

I would say Chamillionaire, but I've been listening to him since he was just a Houston-known rapper, so he's not really new to me.

I can't relly think of anyone new who has come across as dope. Stat Quo will flop.... but there nobody making any real noise anymore. Although I like what I've heard from Viscious who raps with Royce da 5'9"
