this thread is more ignorance. Rappers make good actors. Alot have proved it thru out the history of rap.

eminem, dr dre, snoop(only average), ludacris, jin, methodman, redman, ice cube, ice t, master p, ll cool j, ja rule, beanie siegel, memphis bleak, asher d(uk but still good), 2pac was a sick actor, andre 3000, dmx, nas, mos def, shit even nelly impressed me his role in the longest yard.

i could list more but i think my points been proven. rappers gone actors usually are the best, simply cos, part of bein a good rapper is acting, bein able to bring emotion n execution to fit the tracks n the words bein spoken e.t.c

Artists gettin into movies and finding money outside of rap makes them dumb their rhymes.

You'd probably think differently in America.

But all rappers who try to act suck? Let's take a few examples...

Will Smith - Good.
DMX - Decent, but needs to start playing different roles.
Eminem - Decent, but needs a character that requires more acting, something he doesn't relate to very well. If he's really in the new Final Fantasy movie, he might be able to prove himself.
Busta Rhymes - Decent.
Dr. Dre - Bad.
Snoop - Improving. The Wash and Bones sucked, but he did good as Huggy Bear.
Master P - Horrible.
Ice Cube - Good, at times.
Kurupt - Good, considering how he always plays small parts. Maybe he should try out a bigger role in his next movie.
Mos Def - Good.
Roc-A-Fella - *Smh* State Property was wack.

Not all rappers are bad at acting, but not all rappers are good at acting either.

Well in theory, if you were a hip hop head in America you'd have a good knowledge of hip hop. Probably enough to know that Will Smith won the first ever Hip Hop Grammy, which wasn't only a milestone in the culture, but also kind of a shock. It was during the golden age of hip hop, when it was first starting to make an impression, and rhymes were simplistic and still dope. Will and Jazzy Jeff beat out such heads as LL Cool J and Kool G Rap. So winning an award over legends like them it at least somewhat reflective upon skill.

I don't know, I guess it ultimately just depends on one's musical tastes, but IMO Will's not as bad as a lot of people say.
