To those who don't respect Biggie as a great lyricist (which he was) or as a dope MC

all I have to say is listen to his 1st and classic LP "READY 2 DIE"

that shit will change your view on rap.

The man rapped about simple things, but they way he did it was intricate. Make no mistake.

I recommend you listen to the track called "Suicidal Thoughts"...that track will send chills down your spine unless you're just a flat-out hater.

RIP BIGGIE

I was talking to someone about Biggie, and he said he'd only heard 3 of his albums. I said "There only are 3", and he was like "Well I've heard Born Again, Life After Death part 1, and Life After Death part 2." I just kinda looked at him in shock after that.

word...peep this

I knew who Biggie was back in 1997. BUt, I had yet to hear Ready 2 die. Until then, all I heard was Hypnotize and I was thinkin "he's alright; but what's all the fuss about?" Then, someone let me borrow Ready 2 Die and I literally listened to that CD 15 times that day...it was fuckin amazing

it jus changed my view on Biggie and from that point on I developed a new rtespect for him..You CAN NOT form an opinion on Big without listenin to Ready 2 die.

Word, when I was in elementary school my brother bought Ready 2 Die. I like "Big Poppa", but that's just 'cuz I saw it on MTV lol. I used to think that opinions of Big being one of the greatest was just because he died, 'cuz I really hadn't heard too much from him. Then when I was a freshman, I bought Ready 2 Die and fell in love with it too.

yea

forming an opinion of Big without listening to the entire Ready 2 Die LP is like forming an opinion of Pac based on the posthumous albums Suge puts out.

it's not right.

^^^That's an ignorant assessment, IMO. Pac and Biggie were beefing so you can't take Pacs word for shit. Biggie, on the other hand, admitted that Pac schooled him in the GAME, not on FLOW/LYRICS.

Also, have you listened to biggie's REEADY 2 DIE LP?

i havent read the posts in here, and havent read your post.

but the title said enough to me.... now its your opinion that biggie is what u say he is.. if ppl dis-agree, thats they opinion.

the world is filled with opinions, most of the time they dont agree and clash... just deal with the fact most people arent fans of his music, im not a biggie fan, i feel he is over-rated somewhat... but i do respect him for what hes done and for what he did for hip hop.

so stfu tryna act like ur opinion is better and live with the fact, everybody has they own opinion, be it the same as urs, or different.

nah...no HERE we go

Im about to solve this problem

Im putting him on IGNORE because he obviously doesn't give a shit about the point of the thread..he's jus here to pick a fight with Q

grow the fuck up LEADY

leady 10-27-05 12:43 PM

i wasnt even trying to start any argument.

all i was saying was, you act like people NEED to like biggie, and NEED to think hes super amasing e.t.c

all i said was, it is your opinion... just like its my opinion his music wasnt THAT great... it was decent, n yes he had the odd song which made me vibe more than most, but most of his music didnt make me think "WOW".

so instead of tryna turn this into an argument, just read my point.

cos ive noticed you do it alot... if somebody doesnt have the same opinion as you, you try and deminish it, and act like they have got to change it instead of accepting, opinions are what makes the world, difference in opinions create a more interesting place to live and are the main source in discussions.

leady 10-27-05 12:46 PM

and i know the point of the thread.. its an attempt to make people agree with you, change they opinions, when infact it wont... i guarantee atleast 90% of the forum own the album allready of have atleast heard it.

as for this comment

"he's jus here to pick a fight with Q"

please, dont flatter yourself... ive got much bigger issues to deal with right now.

and this comment

"grow the fuck up LEADY"

your the one acting like putting me ignore actually bothers me.... so check yaself.

peace

Listen to Tupacs "If I Die Tonight", Pac can be ill if he wants to, lyrically...

But I still say Tupac is way better then Biggie, and yes Q I used to listen to Biggie I had all his albums including unreleased and that mixtape a dj had put out i think dj vlad/dirty harry and shit that had like 50 unreleased/remixed tracks...and he IS NOT even close to the lyrical status as todays emcees, im not saying he wasnt dope for his time...but thats FOR HIS TIME,...many upon many emcees out do him today, so please stop saying hes the goat when hes not even close. If you think Biggie is better then any emcee in todays age, name a biggie line and I guarentee I will get you a line better then it.

...find yourself in serious shit
- Biggie

if you understand that bar, then you KNOW how dope it is.
Find a line from today thats better than that.

noname 10-28-05 05:19 PM

Biggie is good at flow and delivery and all...but his lyrics and subject matter doesn't really do it for me..
There are a bunch of rappers better than him.
