beat - Perseverance is always tight with beats. i jus hate his little whisper thing he does
concept -this is a good idea. i like the way you approached it hook - simple but good. you get the point across. lyrics - lyrics weren't bad at all. this was actually pretty good. flow was good. some multies i heard that made it flow a lot more smooth. mic prescence was good. emotion definitely fit the track well. the only thing i can kinda complain about is the fact that the vocals were a little too high. could barely hear the beat. good track man. we gotta get one going |
thanks man.... preciate da feed... just tryna do my own thang and bring a lil variety to RV... leave links and i'll RTF

your improving wit your quality n shit man, I like the way the hook sounds...the beat coulda been turned up a bit though, hard to hear cuz your verse vocals were louder by lot then the beat. your hook vocals were good I like the momo sound you gave it though, turn it up a bit to fit wit the verse vocals. you dont have to but w/e anyway I thought you had a good flow and quality is comin along. your emotion isn't bad lyrics were fa sho killa. and word I cant wait to collab wit you:)

*listening*
I ilke how you came in.....shit's pretty tight. You flow pretty well. You probably got one of the best flows on this site.....honestly. I don't know why you're getting slept on. Your chorus needs work. The concept is good and so are the lyrics, but the actual quality of the chorus is ass. The volume needs to be raised on your chorus's vocals as well. This is a good song though, I'm feeling it. We need to get together on a track for real ™ |

It's a shame the whisper on the intro isn't a perfect match to the beat and a blatantl hard loop. The beat's nice but the resolution of it is AAAASSSSSSSS so it sounds flat whne it should sound so much warmer.
First verse: The lyrics and flow are pretty much on and ready. You need a WAY better mic immediately - but I'm sure you already know that. Your voice sounds nasal like everyone else voice in a crap mic. You shoudl have leveld out the hook's volume, and you gotta inject a little more variance in your lines. I'm in the second verse now BTW, jsut kept typing the whole way through. The flow is dead on and the lyrics are actually relevant to themselves and good, but your mastering skills on this are bootee. PS, cut the long stretches of silence off on your vocals since I can hear whne you turn your mic on and adjust it's position before you said a word. The Marvin Gaye sample - if you put it on there, you should hav eadded some reverb to it to add more aura to it and also to fade ou the cut point so it's not so abrupt but rather gradually fades out. Oh yeah, I forgot to say, your voice reminds me of about 80% Rakim with a pinch of Enygma, and the enygma part comes from your mic. All in all, pure conent wise, this is a great track. in execution against other real "tracks" it's "good", the quality keeps it form "great" and the variance in the delivery keeps it from "classic". 1 |

werd.... definitely tryna up my mastering skills... still playing with a few things trial and error style... i learn best that way.... my mic def needs an upgrade... also working on keeping my breath control...in control... that's another reason for the variances in verses... doing them over and over again takes a lot out of ya by the end of the day... emcees don't realize that exercise still plays a major role in what ya do performance wise....i been slacking...lol.... looking at getting my mic relatively soon... just got some priorities to work out with moving back east and getting my new job b4 i'm completely out of the army... definitely appreciate da feed and the suggestions... this is prolly the realest feedback i've ever seen on a track... it was well explained and actually offered sumn i could use to up my game instead of just "Boost ya vocals" or "get a new mic".... good lookin out...one |

Yeah, honestly, I think you can do a lot with the set-up you have. Little things here and there and you specifically can definitely have pretty pin-point quality. Just remeber, I had a bottom of the barrel Radio Shack mic that after some heavy massaging, made my vocals sound crisper, sharper and more evenly compressed than a Shure SM58 (though that Shure in my hands would have brutalized the RS mic horribly), so no, your set up is definitely not being milked to it's fullest, lol. Even my current set-up is way under it's full abilities, so there's always more left in it - you can ALWAYS do more with what you have than you immediately realize. But you seem legitimately interested in bettering your sound and you're a pretty stand up guy so if there's something I can help with, hit me on AIM. Peace. |
