Dozens of superstars have come together to perform with and pay homage to the legendary rapper on this unprecedented, history-making release. "This composition of sound and different energies has surpassed my wildest imagination," said Bad Boy Entertainment founder and CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs. "The love for BIG was and is real. This movement has been both an emotional and therapeutic experience, one that finds us at the end of the road in terms of original releases for a great man and at the threshold of a sound and a quality which may have fallen by the wayside after losing him." A track from the album, "Nasty Girl," premieres on MTV.com today, October 26th, and the single is slated to officially impact at radio stations across the country on November 14th. Produced by Jazze Pha, the track features Diddy, Nelly, Jagged Edge, and Avery Storm. A companion video, directed by Chris Robinson, is currently in production. Another song from the album, "Hold Ya Head," was the first music to be released from "THE FINAL CHAPTER." The dramatic and poignant track pairs B.I.G. with a moving sample from "Johnny Was" by Bob Marley, another legendary artist who died before his time. "Hold Ya Head" premiered September 26th on AOL Music as part of its First Listen program, and a video is currently wrapping up production. Other highlights of the project include "Get Your Grind On," which brings together for the first time B.I.G., Fat Joe, and Big Pun ; and "Spit Your Game," which pairs Twista with Bone Thugs N Harmony’s Krazie Bone, a long-awaited collaboration that hip-hop fans will go wild for. R. Kelly and Charlie Wilson join B.I.G. on the soulful groove "Mi Casa," and the group KoRn rocks with Notorious B.I.G. on "Wake Up Now." B.I.G.’s mom, Voletta Wallace, makes an appearance on the album’s closing track, "Love Is Everlasting," with the recital of an original poem about her son Christopher Wallace. Diddy and Notorious B.I.G. are the album’s Executive Producers, while Voletta Wallace is Co-Executive Producer along with Faith Evans, Harve Pierre, and others. Born in Brooklyn, the Notorious B.I.G. was Bad Boy Records’ flagship artist. From his earliest verses on tracks like Craig Mack’s "Flava In Your Ear Remix" and Mary J. Blige’s "Real Love," it was clear to the hip-hop world that a new king had been crowned. Biggie solidified his position with his now classic 1994 debut, "READY TO DIE." Through the combination of Sean Combs’s powerful production and B.I.G.’s vivid rhymes, the disc brought Bad Boy to the forefront of East Coast hip-hop, and went on to be certified 4x platinum by the RIAA. Tragically, the superstar’s life was cut short in March 1997, when he fell victim to a shooting. His already completed second set, a double album entitled "LIFE AFTER DEATH," was released soon after his death, and featured the smash hits "Hypnotize" and "Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems." A true masterpiece, it is considered by many to be the greatest hip-hop album of all time, with an unforgettable track list crafted by Notorious B.I.G. It entered the charts at #1 and went on to be certified 10x platinum, earning a rare Diamond Award from the RIAA. 1999 saw the release of "BORN AGAIN," an album of previously unreleased B.I.G. material. It also entered the charts at #1 and was certified RIAA double platinum. "THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G. DUETS : THE FINAL CHAPTER" marks the first release of new B.I.G. material in six years. It entered the charts at #1 and went on to be certified 10x platinum, earning a rare Diamond Award from the RIAA.
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @ That and Biggie > Pac |
^Eminem did the same thing...
|
^but because of different reasons
|
^lol(to blay)...yea cuz Biggie got it entirely off of skill, ever heard of hit singles and a good producer?
Eminems SKILL > biggies SKILL name a biggie line ill name a better eminem line...face the facts, biggies overated |
only a white person would say that Eminem is better than Biggie.
c'mon, honestly? have common sense, rap isnt just all about "hotlines" |
yeah, Compose Biggie honestly had to be dope to sell his records... Eminem comes out with an album talking with an Arabic accent half the album and all the white chicks and rockers go out and buy it
|
Quote:
ROFLMAO Exactly he raps about rapin his mother and beatin his wife, and people buys it. he'll say some shit like "I dont have any shoe strings, so I'll use your dogs intestines" and people would be like word yo, that shit is TITE!!! Eminem is the greatest. fuck outta here with that shit Biggie Smalls went fuckin Diamond. I NEVER heard ofg no shit like that. |
Quote:
lmao nah son, sorry you might be able to put up a case thats he's a lil bit overrated NOW since he died... but saying he WAS hella overrated? no. and, 50 Cent's got talent you don't just become famous for no reason you might be able to argue that he doesnt have sick lyrics in all his songs or somethin, but YOU saying HE has no talent? psh, fuck that. |
lol @ me starting the "Big is overrated" shit in this thread....lol...
but he is.... |
if ANYBODY is overrated in rap, its mos def Tupac.
Tupac had NO FANS until he was in Juice playin a mothafucka shootin everyboy |
Tupac and Biggie are both overrated
|
^yeah, that IS true
|
Pac > Biggie
as a rapper, a person and a symbol |

You gotta admit, you did go out and buy the album, or at least burn it. 50 sold alot of units....dont know exact number, but his Get Rich Or Die Trying Album went over 5x platinum, now just imagine if burners weren't thought of yet. Thats another 2x added to that 5x platinum. You gotta have talent to get on tha big screen, you cant just wake up one morning and decide to entertain people. And Biggie being overrated: ha! you all read it yourself. Nigga went fuckin Diamond! Thats some shit! Everybody has a different style, Biggie's style, just led to his success. |
Quote:
Then what is it about? Record Sales?...Eminem has that How you represent yourself? Just because Em didnt talk about guns or the hood doesnt mean he didnt represent himself. Beats? He had Dr. Dre, and basically anybody he wanted being on the biggest label in the industry. Em IS nice...and better then Big by a longshot... Quote:
Uh...that was 1 album, you ever heard of Infinite, SSLP, MMLP, and eminem show? where he had no "arabic accent" what so ever...you people need to stop judging him off one album, MMLP and Infinite had better lyrics then anything Biggie put out... Quote:
And Biggie talks about women, selling drugs, and guns...so just because Eminem does something different that nobody else is doing...you criticize him? Diamond is 10 million copies, Eminem almost doubled what Biggie sold on one album... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) #1 US (8 weeks) (8x Platinum); #1 UK (6x Platinum) (19 million worldwide) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biggie Life After Death (Bad Boy Records, 1997) #1 US (4 weeks), #23 UK; 10x Platinum Yall need to stop hating on Em just because hes white and cuz he made 1 wack album, seriously its like youve been waiting for Em to mess up once so you could be on his balls forever, but in truth hes always been one of the greatest before Encore peace |
One of the greatest...yes...Tha greatest!!! no!!!!
|
Quote:
Whats the reasons? cuz hes white? well you're white...so if you sell a lot, ill say its cuz you were white, and only that... peace |
Quote:
better lyrics does not = better rapper!!! |
Quote:
i already gave the reasons, and it wasnt that he was white |
Quote:
I believe it does but since you dont what constitutes a better rapper? Quote:
You didnt say the reasons why he sold a lot...whats the reason? if it wasnt skill |
Quote:
all-around skill, delivery, and presense and its not because HE is white, but all the little white girls and rockers and shit buy all his albums... do you know how many white people i know that that is the ONLY rapper they like? hmmm, why do you think that is? but dont put that solely on him being white, because its not the same for Paul Wall or The Alchemist. |
Quote:
Thats basically why Biggie sold also, like I said...but you kept saying Em sold a lot for a different reason...oh well Quote:
Eminem has all of those fans, and sold a lot because he was DIFFERENT, nobody else rhymed like him at that time...EVERYONE was rappin like a 'gangsta' and they still are, Eminem was completely different from what everyone else was doing...how can you argue that? Well lets see Paul Wall = raps exactly like every other southern wack rapper on the radio Eminem = didnt rap like everyone else on the radio THATS why Paul Wall doesnt sell like Eminem, cuz hes not different...hes just another wack rapper they play on the radio and people bop their heads too...he will die out soon, Em wont... The way a shitload of white people bought Eminems albums is the same way a shitload of black people bought Biggies albums... peace |
Quote:
first off it wasn't a black or white thing... i happen to like biggie's shyt.... i also think eminem got mad skills... y'all looking at it all wrong.... when BIG came out he had an image that was unheard of in hip hop... he was big, black, and most would say not too attractive... you have no idea how many artists get turned down cuz they don't have "the look"... not only that... look at what rap was like before he burst on da scene... Big did his own thang... just like how you say emeinem was on some different shyt when he came out... i wouldn't say big was over-rated cuz the game changes... during his time he was da man... he's gone now... the music has changed drastically since big first dropped... you really think big woulda been on some crunk shyt now if he was still alive... nah... prolly woulda collabed to show his versatility like he did with bone thugs...(which i still say was better than the pac/bone thugs collabo)... y'all need to stop comparing a dead man against someone who's had a chance to grow as an artist and change with the times... em is to da 2000's what big was to da 90's... respect them both and let the shyt go... werd |
^Pac did it before Biggie...just so you know
but Will sunya started the race shit anyway...as if you're white if you're an Em fan. |
Biggie = GREATEST EVER
Pac = good poet and yea, I still CAN NOT WAIT for this Big movie...shit's gonna be dope |
EMINEM = Overrated white boy
Busta Rhymes is JUST as talented...but is the "wrong" color Eminem = America's great white HYPE and HOPE...if he were black, he'd be another run-of-the-mill rapper, which he is to me anyway Eminem = talented, but so are 100000000 other rappers out |
