Apparently not, because you sir are not on AIM. And do you want a special SC logo with your pic or something? Rather than that ugly one.

I would tell you...but I can barely see anything in the 1st pic.
|

yea fo sho radioshack is the fuckin dopest place ever i needed a cord i didnt know about for my pre-amp and they told ya what it was in 2 seconds i was shocked cuz usually people at stores and shit are stupid as fuck
|
They Closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
So wait until they're open, you stupid fuck.
|
The 40 pin connector you got is the default shit for most hardrives, the new hardrive you have might need a cord that has a strip on it, like a strip on the side of a matress idk what its called I forgot, but thats weird that the hardrive doesnt support the connector you already have, the smaller port to the right is the power supply, and the little one on the left you dont necessarily have to connect it depends, its some audio shit with the motherboard, atleast thats how mine was.

|
oy man I can help you but i need more info.
That connector in the first pic is a data cable.. I can barely see anything to gauge where I am, so tell me a bit more. |

word i thought it was ribbon cable...the end looks like it but the actuall cable didnt |
fuck i shoulda payed attention in computer repair
|
Youre taking too long and I have to go soon...
So heres the possible problems I can think of: - You are stupid. The REAL place to plug that cord in is on one of the short sides of the hard drive, next to where to plug the 4 pinned power cable. -Your computers motherboard is compatible with Serial ATA(SATA) hard drives, and the hard drive you bought is an IDE hard drive. You should maybe just return the HDD and get one with the right plug. |
nope the cable i have in my computer is an IDE cable
|
Why is everyone here but me know everything about computers?
P.S. ThatNigga, you have crusty ass fingers. |
p.s. no i dont .
|
lol they do look a lil dry

Well then I dont really know. Because my motherboard is SATA, and my cable looks like that and fits into both my hard drives and all four of my cd/dvd drives.. |
why in hell would you need four cd/dvd drives?
|

I dont even know. My computer is a bit like frankenstien. I take parts from any computer I see and put it in mine. Ive got like 2GB of ram and like 2 video cards that I switch every so often. My 4 cd/dvd drives are a different color to the computer case, and 2 arent even attached.. theyre hanging by the cables out the side of the box. |
The pictures were a bit dark.. had to lighten them with paintshop. Either way, you had bought a SATA hard drive. The connector you are holding in your hand is a 40 pin IDE connector. If you keep the drive, you'll need to buy an IDE to SATA converter. It's probably more cost effective to return the drive since it's new and get an IDE drive instead.
Here are pics of the differences between the connectors http://www.pcstats.com/articleview....eid=1778&page=6 |
Damn, strobe saves the day. -_-

THANKS SO MUCH! only problem is i cant find an IDE harddrive over 30 gigs, |
30 or 300? All drives out there are over 30 gigs nowadays. You can find 300 gig drives for around $100. For 400-500 gig drives, look at Seagate and Hitachi. Both have them in IDE. Just look for Ultra ATA/100 or ATA/133 on the box.
