It's actually a good mic...It's the condenser I use. In fact, it's the ONLY condenser mic that has a built in pre-amp. So, it's a great value. The mic only costs 80 dollars.

real mic? sure...

Exactly what do you know about this mic we're referring to? It sounds like you're just saying anything because you blew alot of money on a mic and a pre-amp and are probably still searching for good quality. This mic is rated very highly and is a great value. I have two NICE preamps and could have gotten any mic I wanted. i CHOSE this mic because it's simple to use, and it has nice quality. Do some research before you run your mouth.

300 bucks?

You got robbed. Set ups can run your 10000000000000 of dollars. So, why would this kid spend 300 for something and get equal, if not BETTER, quality for 80-100 dollars?

THink about it.

Tha Q. 12-30-05 04:58 PM

P.S. I know you're "Calamity", I just don't give a shit. Good editing tips can carry you a LONG way.

fuck what you heard.

Excetera 12-30-05 05:00 PM

that mic I believe is only 80 dollars

It's a great value...esp. for people who don't want to spend HUNDREDS on other equipment...

It's also good for people who have laptops...

Nice quality mic

Excetera 12-30-05 05:17 PM

word...thats why im getting that one so i dont have to copp a pre-amp.

pre amps are necessary for mics that don't have them built in...which is basically EVERY mic except the Samson C01u...

it's no way a mic's signal is strong enough to give you a great input signal without a pre amp

Even so, peeps with pre amps still need a sound editing process or their vocals will sound like shit...

there's a threshold between "poor" equipment, and acceptable/good equipment and a "decent" editing process.

People with the best quality have a sound editing process.

PERIOD.

no doubt...lately, I've been addin more 16000 hz or "highs" to my vocals to see how that sounds...It's too high...So, on this next track, Imma keep the highs lower on my vocals...

You will have no distortion in that mic dawg...and very little noise from the internal circuitry (pre amp)

ACUITY

Here's my editing process.

I record my vocals in MONO

mix down

I run "Amplify Center Wave"
then,
Run Noise Redux, settings at 95/40

Run Click/Pop eliminator

after that
I convert back to STEREO
Then, I run a "De-esser" that's in a Wave Platinum Plug in called "Male Wide" de-esser

Then, I run a compressor on it in Dynamic Processing, settings are from the "Alcatraz" process

After that, I run graphic EQ "vocal boost" on it, but from the "Alcatraz Process"

Then, I "NORMALIZE" my vocals under "AMPLITUDE/NORMALIZE"...settings at 80 (70-80 is good)

Finally, I amplify once more 2-3 decibels

I save that file. Then, in Multitrack, I adjust the EQ to (H) 4-5, Lo (1.2) and M (-2.4)

That's for my MAIN vocals...

I have other processes for my dubbed verse and my hook
