we're a lil apprehensive cuz we feel like were gettin screwed, like 90% of the artists so we might not agree to this shit...... but werd up bitches!

and for anyone whos gone through this, gimme some tips on some sorta fine print i should look out for or loopholes they may put in the contract....

the main reason we dont wanna do it, is cuz its one cd, 16 tracks..... were thinkin about waitin longer, maybe tryna get a better deal, or put out some more shit until other labels want a piece, hopefully..... word bitches

Yo a one cd contract is a fairly decent start...

Definatly look at the percentage their paying you per unit.. But overall man, just have a good read through it...

If your real worried, get a lawyer to read through it..

But seriously man, with your first cd, what you really need to be doin is workin and puttin in 110% towards promoting your music and getting stuff in the stores... Nobody makes big money off their first cd... If your good enough and you really got what it takes to come up and hit the big time.. Then that'll come later... Only through tremendous hard work though, remember that....

And make sure you get a good manager... That shit is key......

85% of cd sales btw......... and somewhere in the low thousands for signing.......

And also be sure that they don't lock you in. Even though it is one CD, the rights to any of your music might be exclusive to them.

i think we should take it rob....... its not like the label is Def Jam or sum shit..... we dont wanna get tied down by one small label that wont be able to get us much nationwide exposure....... ya know??? i wanna be able to do this shit and get out and hope they like it and try and get us a better contract...... its like 5th round draft picks, u gotta prove urself before they give u the franchise tag or more money.... if they tie us down to like 4 albums...... no matter how well are first album goes, we'll prolly get paid as lil for the second one as the first even if we go big (which isnt that likely on a small label)...... u see wat im sayin??? we dont want strong attachments incase we become bigger than the label or deserve more money.... the only way gettin a longer deal will help us is if we COMPLETELY tank, so were actuallly rippin them off by makin this money even tho we suck.... and thats obviously not true, and that would be lose-lose almost, ya know?
