yea I'm wonderin if when y'all actually record a song if yall read off papers or memorize your writtens before you record. I find if you memorize it, your delivery comes out a lot more pure.

Well, when im performing at my gigs and what not, obviously i have to memorize, cant bring a pad up on stage..

Tell u the truth i always record right after writing because im so anxious to hear what it sounds like....never performed or anything of the sort yet .im too shy ;)
But after its all recorded and what not i seem to remember the lyrics and spit it in front of people and it sounds alot better than the recording.

Well obviously its going to sound better if you rap directly to someone than through a microphone.

I find it best if you record in punches not verses. but you need a different skill to do so.

But recording a verse is faster, and when i do it i memeroize it, and i hold the paper and read the first word of the punch to remind me and shit.

unless someone ghosted for me, i usally just read it off the paper and add a few different words in.

eh thats not really true.

someone just freestyling out loud with no beat is pretty gay.

id rather hear the shit throw the mic and shit. sounds more clean.

i usually practice a verse over a beat a few time...memorize it best i can...but i still hold the paper up there.....just incase...cause i have a bad memory

And I'd have to Disagree, There are some people who have trouble delivering a song the same way they do on a recording, some people find it easier some people find it harder. So, any further descrepancy you have with my comment?

I memorize it, but I am rainman so that doesn't really say much.

Usually I have the paper with me, but I rehearse it enough so I know what's coming next usually, but I still have the paper with me, just in case.

I will have read a verse 100 times before I spit it. So, yea, I basically memorize it. I used to hate hearing, "Sounds like ur reading."

I read....an u can't tell.....but....like after im done recording....cus I'll record 150 gazillion times before I'm happy, I usually have my songs memorized
