Suggestion for Audio Forum
 

....I think we should put up a sub forum where everybody can post up music from they area...because we all have local artists in our area who are well known and some of them are good and some of them arent ..I"d just like to see what kinda local artist everyone else has and would like for everybody to peep the locals in my area..and i dont think there should be any give two links of feedback shit on this either..im sure everybody will peep and criticize anyhow

hmm...I disagree with the waiver of the 2-links rule. People need to stop being lazy. As far as this idea goes, I don't see how it could be bad. On the other hand, I don't really see the point of having a "Detroit" section, a "DC" section, a "Sacramento" section. Maybe I don't get you.

Sounds like a good foundation! I think I see where we might run into difficulty though. How are we going to set up diffrent sub sections for all the areas? there's so many areas you can name off the top, minnesota,NJ, queens, brooklyn, manhattan, DC, St. Louis, all over the place, and that's just the towns that are on the map, not the billions of smaller spots going to be repped by all these upcoming artists!

If we could catagorize the regions or something, that'd make it a little more organized and easier for all of us.

Oh yeah, feedback would be a must! Otherwise that'd turn into a loop hole around the existing rules of Songs. The mentallity would be: "Why drop feedback for a track, when I could just rep my area and not drop anything?" - So yeah, feedback would be a must. Which also means...a mod.

to make it easier, it wouldnt be alot of subforums just one example

if i click the sub forum "local artist music" or whatever

i can just make a new thread that says

Magic Man - Get Loose - Chicago, IL

nah i think it would be str8 with one forum..why seperate everything..the whole purpose is to peep songs made from other areas anyways so i dont want people to not check something out just because of the place it was made...

Yeah, but they'll still do that anyway. All they'd have to do is read "artist from XXXX area" and not click on it all the same.

Not to mention, if all the regions are in the same sub forum, the artist from a region you want to hear could be on page 3 and you'd never know they were there unless you went digging - or completely off the visable pages all together (like anyone on Page 5 in Songs). By region, they're not thrown in the bucket with others from irrelevant regions. Clustering MC's by region would also help those artists network, and if it's one thing a smart artist loves to do, it's network. What if the regions were seperated West, East, Mid West, South, etc, so say all rappers from NY, NJ, CT, PA, MD, DC, NH and MA, are all under "East".

Oh also, how does a new member decipher between posting up in Songs or in their location? That could make or break someones experience here - not to mention divide the activity in both songs and the yet-unnamed sub forum which equals less feedback, less views, etc. for everybody.

interesting..but this forum wouldnt be for personal feedback it'd be for people in the area..nobodies posting they're own songs because we have a songs forum for that...but i dunno..lol..

So what happens after someone posts a song from another local artist In that forum?
