My problem with the "war" in Iraq...
 

Besides it being a war of ideals...I mean, you say tomato I say ToMAHtoe. Can you really win a war of ideals?

neway...I have an issue with the lack of respect for life that not only the insurgents display, but George Bush. Enygma is in the Army and that's my bro. I've known and talked to other people who have served in Iraq. When you hear that someone has died in Iraq, it isn't real. On the news tonight, the reporter said, "3 soldiers were kill in Iraq tonight." Then, she went on to talk about the weather. But, God forbid, what if it had been someone I knew? People need to put faces on these soldiers who are dying senseless deaths. America will never win this "war".

This is actually a huge problem. I'm pretty sure that most people don't know that the death toll of americans over in Iraq right now is well over 2,000. You might say that it isn't a lot, but have you even met 2,000 people in your lifetime? Compare the numbers to yourself personally. I haven't personally known anyone who's died over there yet (as far as I know) but I myself have yet to deploy. Call me lucky, call me a coward, all I know is that I volunteered twice and one time the deployment got canceled, the other time my job was not needed.

To get back on topic.....The numbers keep rising daily. But what you might not know is that all the other countries combined that are allied with america in this war have combined for a total of less than 100 deaths in Iraq. I clicked on that link man. That is senseless. I can not accep their style of fighting. There's no honor in it. I wonder how some of the great generals from history (Napoleon, Ghenghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Shaka Zulu) would deal with this situation if they were the United States.

well...all of what you all are saying is true..and we do need to pull our troops out of hte middle east entirely because its not even a war....who is it a war against?....its more of a peace keeping mission....the middle easterners can't can't even get along..theres to many "civil" wars going on over there in sand city......i reckon the only reason america went in was to take out a crazy dictator and bring peace back to Iraq.....but we are doing a half ass job on that....the dictator is gone..but will the violence amongst the middle easteners stop....probably not...religion and state is mixed like a motherfucka over there....

Buddy in ancient times entire armys would charge into battle, about 200 would get shot down in the innitial array of sharp arrows being shot into the masses, a further 5000 would die extremily in-humane deaths in one day with their heads inpaled, large axe wounds to the stomach and spine, limbs cut off etc etc..

Then a further 2000 would die after the battle in hospitals from gang green and an array of other infections solely from a lack of medical knowledge and flesh would infections...

There ARE STILL thousands of groups of terrorists out there plotting against the entire western world. If governments simply packed up and left.. These terrorists would get stronger and eventually come back and bite everyone on the ass big time...

I know what its like to have people I know die.. Its not cool..

But believe me when I tell you this.. Now a days, things are a HELL of a lot better than back then... Throughout history, wars have been SHITLOADS more greusome and in-humane than this one.. Now a days, a lot of shit jus gets carpet bombed and soldiers pick off the survivors...

^^I mean that I don't see it at honorable to purposely attack civilians. I understand there will be collateral losses in war. Any of us could have died on 9/11. I just have a problem with them targeting buses, restaurants, churches, and places were military aren't stationed. In my opinion, they are no better than the racist monsters who bombed that Birmingham church over 50 years ago, killing those 4 little girls. The extremists always say, "But, Americans kill our women and children." The difference is, Americans don't PURPOSELY target women and children like they do. There is no honor in that. There are rules to war.

If Americans attacked Mosques, it's because they had good reason to suspect it was doubling as a military operation. It's not in American ideology to kill civilians on purpose.

Those extremists make me think of this analogy.

Let's say that war is represented by a double-yellow line, like in the middle of a road. Most people stay in their lane because they recognize that by not doing so, they put many people's lives in danger. To me, the terrorists cross that double yellow line whenever, where ever they want to and think that's "justified" because the people they crash into represent something they don't. The real stinger is, they think that's somehow clever or honorable. There's no honor in it. ANYONE can cross the double yellow line. We don't because we have better sense and realize it's the wrong thing to do. They just have NO LIMITS because they're lunatics.

If you recall, 9/11 happened BEFORE the war in Iraq. They will kill you simply for being "American." I have NO RESPECT for those ideals. You need to watch some of the videos of the insurgents and how they view americans. NO American armed force unit reciprocates those sentiments.

I agree that Sadamn Hussein has a right to take his country back over. Any country that's occupied has a right to defend itsself. My problem is with America more than Iraq. I feel that this war can not be won. I think we should pull out.
