Here's what Christianity truly means...from a believer's persective
 

If you are narrow minded, leave the thread now. This thread is certainly open for discussion. But, if your sole purpose is to discredit something without having experienced it first-hand, then you're in the wrong forum.

1st off, Jesus never meant for Christianity to be a religion. During his life and ministry, Jesus was as much against organized religion as most of you all seem to be today. The reason he had such disdain for organized religion was because of the immense hyprocrisy that seemed to define it. Jesus challenged the teaching of the religious leaders of his time. And, he admonished people to question the traditions that had been passed down "in the name of religion."

Secondly, Jesus intended for Christianity to be a relationship. What he taught was so avant garde for his time, they cricified him. Jesus basically destroyed the common view of the day, legalism, and introduced a new philosophy, grace. Legalism is the view that you earn your place, your salvation, your rewards from good works and being a good person. Jesus taught that NO ONE was good and worthy to receive blessings and salvation from God. In the book of Ephesians, the apostle Paul writes that "salvation is not from works, lest any man boast." That means that God meant for salvation to be a free gift, one that He was at liberty to extend to whom he wanted, when he wanted.

Thirdly, being a Christian is not unlike being in a relationship with a girl/guy. In any relationship, you want to do things to please the person you're with. That doesn't mean you're going to be perfect, but your attitude is one of commitment to them. It's the same with God. God knows that we're going to err. But, when we come to him sincerely and honestly in repentance, he forgives us and even forgets our sins. That's right! God FORGETS our sins (meaning he doesn't hold them against us any longer). This view is where the term "personal walk" comes from. You wouldn't infringe upon someone else's marriage. Therefore, you wouldn't suggest to someone what God has/is/will do for another individual in their "relationship" with Him.


I feel that many people, including some on this site, have misconceptions about Christianity. They were taught so many false things growing up, it's difficult to distinguish the truth now. I encourage everyone to begin to separate MANMADE tradition from GOD-ORDAINED word. Everything you were told growing up isn't what God wants you to believe. Study the scripture for yourself. Question everything you're taught. But, one thing is for sure. Everything will crumble and pass away in this world EXCEPT the word of God. It is sure. It is real. It is the very thing that created everything in existence.

The sabbath!!........ this is a very important part of the faith to every believer ... and should be studied in depth. Because when you begin to study the bible further... and get to prophecy and Daniel and Revalation.... you will find that the False Sabbath is one of the Marks of the Beast...


Saturday is the Sabbath that Jesus kept... and under no authority from Heaven should it have ever been changed.

i shed this light on my fellow belivers because, it is Important to know what day the sabbath is! and what its all about.

I used to be a christian.

Untill I realised how much of a crock of shit it was... I got massive respect for jesus and I know that what he was doing and saying was 100% on the money..

But the religion set up as his legacy are full of liars and fools..

As I've said in the past... I am a spiritual man..

I also was a christian until a few years ago.

Thats not to say the information in the christian bible is all false. Its a historical document. It is sad that it is considered solely a christian document though...

I think religion is pretty fucked. All you need to be a christian is a relationship with God and a trusting in Jesus. Who the fuck is a priest? Just another person like you or me. I understand that he wants to spread the message, but often priests are fools, just like a lot of "christians."

And fuck church. Church used to be a group of people. Now its a building. Do you really think God cares AT ALL about stain glass windows, golden cups, silverware, flowers, crosses, tablecloths, organs... of course not. If anything he would be against all that shit because it takes away from the message.

Im not even sure what I believe, but I AM spiritual, and I am open minded... so yeah. If I ever was a christian, I wouldnt fit the stereotype at all.

I myself am no church goer...because I do believe that there is more it than that. I believe it's not just something that you follow...but something you have to try and understand for yourself. Existance is mankind's greatest question and most unreachable answer. Because in the end...Why are we all here..? We couldn't "just be here"...

But that also leads to a problem. God was always "just there"...but the human mind cannot imagine anything without a beginning and and end. That is just the way we are because we understand only life and death...to survive, and then to eventually die.

But the biggest question is...why..?

And if you think about it, religion is something you follow...but how many religions are there in the world..? Many.

BUT all of religion centers around one central omnipotent being, other than Greek mythology, but even then there is Zues.

There has to be a God...

Even science proves it. There is evidence that the entire universe was created from a "big-bang"...but what created the big bang..?

On the first day, God created light. And there was light.

The light could have been the big bang.

Because on the FOURTH day was when God actually created the Sun and the Moon.

There are infinite possibilities. It all depends how you wish to percieve it as.

Isnt there no evidence of the big bang? Its the big bang THEORY, not history or fact.

There IS evidence of the big bang.

Galaxies moving away from eachother, constantly gettting further away from one another. There would have to be some force that acted upon them to make them do so.

Numbers are infinite, constantly being able to link anything and everything to one another. Physics are based on math. Physics has laws. Math has laws.
