Yeah man..

Shit like........Every time I record, I drink scotch or beer.. Or have some eclipse mints to clear up my vocals a bit or w/e they do..

Does anyone else do that type of shit?

I used to smoke bongs while recording.. Untill I decided that was a bad idea -_-..

I tend to drink while I record too. Last time, we were passing around a fifth of rum and grabbing out of a 24-pack of PBR.

well ... weed definately sparks the creative genius... alcohol relaxes your larynx.. also dims mind ..so spits maybe slurred ...but it lets the inhibitions be less.. so attacking the mic.. like you own that shit.. you know what beer muscles are? same applies to mic..no i dont need to be drunk or high to write and spit .. but ... i enjoy it more while drunk and high... my art is on another level ...^^^^ most high... either way ... do what you do to get in the mood ...there need be no beef on that you are all entitled to your opinions !!!

Are we talking about simple habbits or crutches? 95% of the time, I write my lyrics outside of the studio. If I'm not writing them in the studio, then I'm obviously not using the alcohol as inspiration. It's just to record, and sometimes getting a little tipped can help add some energy to laying your vocals.

Recording habits? Mostly just warming up my chords and taking off my watch, turning off the cell, or anything else that'll make noise whilre recording. Once in a blue smoke trees before recording, but never in the same room as the mic. mmmmm...think that's about it.

My recording habits are to set up my microphone and stand in front of it while I spit. I also like pressing record in Cool Edit.....this helps me be able to listen to what I have just said :thumbup:™

Anway...I used to smoke weed and record tracks all the time...I found it to help you focus better and get shit out more...and I could freestyle like a madman when I was high too.

All of it has ceased now though. I'm allergic to weed and I almost died last time I smoked it.

But really...it all depends on who you are and what you think would help you record. People have different states of minds, and if somebody can record drunk and stoned better than when sober, so be it.

Maybe it's just the warm water. I could speculate what the salt does. But, it may just be an old wives tale. It does work though.

I usually record when I record and SOMETIMES I rap.

Probably the best thing for clearing a throat up is pineapple juice. Preferably real juice from an actual pineapple.

Next best thing is gargling warm water with salt dissolved in it.
