Books Banned in the US

You'd be surprised at what books have been banned in the US.

Uncle Tom's Cabin
A Separate Piece
Lord of the Flies
Where the Sidewalk Ends (Poetry)
To Kill a Mocking Bird
Superfudge
A lot of Stephen King books
Huckelberry Finn
The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank)

Just to name a few of them.

Sean Gunner 04-22-06 09:43 PM

Well...I specifically remember reading the Catcher in the Rye while in high school. I read it on my own though because I heard Hinkley's crazy self read it before he tried to kill Reagan. Or, was that someone else?

Sean Gunner 04-22-06 10:51 PM

He finds them early, like chapter 2 or something.

Dervla 04-22-06 10:52 PM

^^ What is you talking about?........I don't think that's it..I think that's when the boy and his father goes to the camp.

Sean Gunner 04-22-06 10:54 PM

Ya, they are in the wagon or something and he sees something burning in a hole and when he looks he sees babies.

I read it really fast. I read the whole thing in about 4 hours.

Dervla 04-22-06 10:56 PM

Nice...No its a "she" who saw the fires. The babies in the whole thing is in Chapter 3 when they arrive at the camp and they line up infront of this furnace or I think they see people being thrown in the furnance.

Sean Gunner 04-22-06 10:58 PM

The guy who wrote the book saw the babies, and he's a guy.

Fook this, *spark notes it*

Dervla 04-22-06 10:59 PM

I know its a guy who wrote the book...Stuuuupppiiiidddd. :p

Sean Gunner 04-22-06 11:03 PM

Adam 04-23-06 03:21 AM

Some of the books were banned and then later unbanned. The Catcher In The Rye is a damn good read. I was very suprised to see Where The Sidewalk Ends in there, used to be my favourite poetry book when I was a child.
