Why I think schools fucked up.

school is a place you serve, not a place that serves you. it should be set up like...you learn the basics, like the ability to count and math you know..reading, the obvious stuff you'll need to be useful to your self, then let you choose what YOU want to learn ,like if you have an interest in say...art, you should immediately be able to learn the ins and outs of graphics arts structured in a basic-middle-advanced-AP format like everything else and you learn what you're good at and become a better you. same for if you have an interest in music, you learn how to play it? that's cool and all, but...would you rather learn how to make a productive career out of it instead? why shouldn't you?

instead, they force you into their format and you work for your school. your school doesn't work for you. learning all sorts micrometer for the rotund diamater of useless jack shit. that shit don't help you in the real world, and even if you have an interest in that, you could learn the science of what interests you the most!

i dunno, maybe i see shit fucked up.

Kirk 06-29-06 01:12 AM

True words.....

Young Kidd (LM) 06-29-06 01:13 AM

I agree with you...i mean i can see the point in learning History and MAYBE Algebra...

but i mean other things aren't really that useful....that would be pretty cool to do something like you said...being able to choose what you want if you know and learning the in's and outs of said thing..that would be crazy lol..

La Cosa Nostra 06-29-06 01:17 AM

Ok, I agree, to an extent.

But the real problem with schools these days is that we live in rich countries where the education system is out to produce people to work in business related careers to help generate a greater econemy because we all know our governments are funded by corperations these days.

Its just them looking out for their own interests. To governments, people are just statistics. So you know schools are never going to go out of their way to inspire kids to be artistic.

Which is why most good artists these days all come from poor areas with very few work opportunitys. We spend more time learning life and teach it to the more mundane members of planet earth that are more focussed on living life superficially through the system that supports their lifestyle........

ayo . audrey 06-29-06 01:19 AM

thats some truth.com right there.. on some real shit though, you know why i think school sucks? most of the teachers these days, dont even wanna be there. they don't fucking care if you learn shit or not, cuz the fact of the matter is on the first and 15th these niggas are still gettin' their paper.. so for real, like if i had a teacher that was passionate about his or her job and actually cared about their students, i probably wouldn't mind being there as much as i do now.

yeah.

wouldn't be like that if what I discussed had happened. impossible today of course, not really saying anything new other than the obvious.

but my mind thinks beyond 'today'. beyond the surface. it's like x-ray vision, i see how things work before I see what they are.

don't generalize based on what you've seen kid.

most people KNOW what they want to do, but end up doing something completely different because they didn't have the grades for it, didn't attend college or were just plain lazy.

ok, and what if you stick to their 12-step program and go straight into college, and get your self in student load debt spending $30,000+ learning how to work for somebody else and turns out you're doing something you hate, and you suck at it.

hehh... I'd rather cut my losses in highschool for free. learn to make smarter decisions younger. once again, win win.

Past Tense 06-29-06 01:43 AM

I hate school....its dumb..i just go for my friends and sports..and i gotta finish out the next two yeras good or else i cant live with my uncle...and if i cant live with him..its a foster home or emancipation..and i'm gonna be honest i aint ready too live on my own

If that was the case, everyone could pursue their dream and man, that dream would be even harder to achieve when everyone else has an equal chance. I guess that would separate the good from the remarkable. :) But yes, I'd much rather enjoy learning more abou the grammatical mechanics of writing as well as the more intricate aspects, and I see no reason in any potential future jobs I'll need to know much more than long division that I can't do with a decent calculator or computer in hand. Because in the years to come, computers will have the capabilities to instantly solve problems without tediously working them out on paper...wait, they already do. And they'll be even more easily accessible, with mini-computers on your wrist with voice recognition. :)

Until utopia comes around, I'll stick to reading The Elements of Style and classic fiction.

Crazy how old are you??

I seen your pics you look pretty damn young

and for a youngin your pretty smart...keep that shit up

Crazy Hades 06-29-06 01:51 AM

Fourteen, and thanks.

But word, that shit irks me...ten years from now, RIGHT after I graduate college if I attend, there will probably be handheld computers with enough memory to supply the answer to any question necessary. Maybe even in a shorter period of time. And now, I'm fucking learning all these worthless geometric angles and capitals of other countries. :shoot: Damn you, next generation! A plague on all your houses.

good from remarkable? haha, no my friend, you dont' see that 'remarkable' is but 1 slot in a whole field of positions. there's more than enough to go around, and the 'remarkable' reach the peak and blossom into careers for others, making that field bigger and bigger, instead of smaller and smaller.

once again...win win.

truthfully i'm only going to college because thats what my parents want. if they're happy that means they're off my ass which makes it aight with me. [even if i am going to full sail, and going into something i fucking love doing]

but if i had the choice... man.. i'd just stay doing productions like i do now.. i already know all the basics.. i'm already dope.. why the fuck do i need to go to school for something that i already know how to do?

Japan actually. cept that....you take a test and they tell you what your best at, doesnt' matter if you want to do it or not, you can't get a job anywhere else but the field they pick.

lol that's a little different than your own selection lol.

That's why careers in human interaction will be huge soon. So your writing and my psychology will be some of the only jobs left while other people get pushed aside for robots and computers and machines who do the work in a PERCENT of the time.

DQ 06-29-06 04:35 AM

It's true to an extent, you need to have some basic subjects IMO. But things like geography or religion class....I haven't learn jack there. So the best thing to do I think is to keep certain subjects and work with electives for the other part. But I thought this was already the case in quite a few American schools?

How many subjects are there usually? We have like 14 subjects...(only one is elective, a 2-hour course)

yea almost the same thing pac was speakin bout in that one interview he did when he was 17, school just teaches ya the same shit over and over again but just make it harder

on top of the fact that schools completely useless after u learn what u need ta know...i wasnt supposed ta fail anymore classes cuz i only passed 1 class in 9th grade...and well i got expelled from school like some of u might know
and my science teacher let me do my homework cuz i was suspended for a lil bit untill i was officially expelled...she said if i did the homework she'll pass me
so i did all the fuckin big ass projects and sheets she gave me ta do
spent HOURS on it and she still failed me and i have science and math as a combination so it the same class but 2 diffrent grades so since i failed science i failed math...on top of that my gym teacher failed me cuaz i wasnt there ta get dressed and do whatever they had ta do...not my fuckin fault the school didnt let me back on their grounds...so yea ima probably end up either staying another year or dropping out cuz my teachers are fuckin fagz :cussing:
