Recently I've seen this(like pretty much every other moral) become tolerable and extremly common. Now for the most part, the argument for this is the kids "look" old enough so it's okay. In my opinion sexual awareness can and cannot play a factor in this. There's people who say there shouldn't be a law on the age for sexual intercourse and age pretty much doesn't matter. There's also people who are strongly against it. Now the way somebody looks can trick people. Like if a 14 year old has sex with a 20 year old, he/she could say well he/she looked 18 and he/she told him that. That plays a huge problem. Although, that's a VERY flexible argument. Where someone can be 14 years old, and you know damn well he/she looks 14 years old, but you can use that to defend it. Another problem with this is, plenty of times the "minor" can admit to the adult that he/she's underaged, and most of the time the adult doesn't care. Until hes caught or whatever. Now alot of adults have been sexually attracted to minors MUCH MUCH MUCH younger than them, and even had relationships or even fucked them. Not to mention to manipulation that usually happens. In my opinion if people look at this situation SO LIGHTLY, then they need to get rid of the age descrimination in general. If this goes everything else has to go. What so we're too young to take serious mentally, but you can have sex with us? We're too young to buy porn and alcohol, but you can have sex with us? We're too young to actually have a fuckin say in any argument about life, but you can have sex with us? Now in my opinion the ages 15-18 are when you're starting to grow the most. So if you're 18, you can no longer fuck with a 14 year old. And if you're 19, you can no longer fuck with a 15 year old. And if you're 20 and fucking with a 16 you're old I'm sorry you're disgusting as fuck. I don't care what you say. It's kind of a double standard when considering the age range. Assuming people would get disgusted if a 16 year old had sex with a 12 year old. Or if a 4 year old made sexual contact with a baby. I mean there body parts are equally developed right? I don't know, I guess I'm a little cookoo -_-


And to add on to it, I'm sure you've noticed how much I had to say he/she. This is because It seems to be less disgusting for a younger man to fuck with an older woman. But this counts for other moral crimes. Such as gay women getting support and gay men getting the eww's. I guess it's different due to women being physically weaker, or smaller. So it balances out. I guess. A shitload of social advancement habits too.

okay.....the whole situation about statitory rape is a kinda iffy one.....
statutory rape....MOST OF THE TIME...only places a factor when it seriously is a problem to the minor themselves. its a more opinionated thing...and this is how i look at it

a 16 year old who is having sex with a 19 year old....come on now....a three year margin isn't going to make that much of a difference...it all depends on how the parents feel and if the minor is in any kind of danger

a 16 year old having sex with a 27 year old or a 28 year old...now i dont' think thats really appropriate...thats a much larger margin and the parents should be aware of this due to the big difference. Because someone that old seeing a person that young...that should raise an eyebrow

so in the eyes of MANY statutory rape just doesn't have to do with age...but alot more things factor in

Well basically any belief on morality is someone's opinion. Okay, If I say that I believe taking someones life is a personal choice and it's my right as a human being to be free to do so. I mean there has to be SOME set of beliefs to actually answer too. Sex just happens to be the one that's the most tempting, and it kind of taints the whole act in general. =/ But this is a very opinionated thing. im 20 dating a 28 year old...its very different...i never thought i'd date someone 8 years older than i am. Yea its pretty disgusting to think when he was 8 i was just being born ...and that when he was 18 i was 10. but we didnt know eachother at that time ...but fate brought us together now..and im 20 ..legal enough to date any age..but i refuse to date anyone whom is 35 and up. but i know when i was younger..around 15 i had friends dating 27 year olds..which was real dumb for them...I knew those guys didnt want nothing but sex..and they were real desperate fucks and couldnt get with ne one else so they went for what was easier and more vunerable.

But in my recent situation i feel its much different from my friends situation...considering the fact its more than sex.

well when it comes to commiting crimes and things like that....most people in the judicial system try and not make things bigger then what they are (unfortuntatly its not l ike that everywhere)...when it comes to statutory rape....alot of cases even get settled outside the courtroom with the older person, minor and parents.....

I personally think that it ISNT. So logically, them having sex with anyone older would be worse. What can be done though? Nothing.

Its a tricky thing, because we have put a number on what age we think is appropriate.
But its cultural.
You can go in other parts of the world, and 14 year olds are raising families.
Also a female body allows her to give birth wayyy before she turns 18.
This has to make you think. Maybe God intended on people to be sexually active before the age MAN chose (18).
So yea, basically I feel its all cultural. Being raised out here, ur perception on age/sex is so different from other parts of the world. Who knows whats right or wrong? Its just cultural.

16 is the legal age in most places for concentual sex, personally I got no problem with fucking a 16 year old... (I'm 19) Any younger and I wouldnt be down for it though, reguardless of how grown up she is.

I've known girls when I was younger (around 14) who had 24 year old boyfriends, I've known of 18 year old guys fucking 12 year olds. And I've personally beaten the shit out of a 20 year old once for trying to proposition a 13 year old.

Man I think there is a definite age where girls really shouldnt be having sex, that whole 12-16 age range is around when their hormones are going crazy and anyone who takes advantage of people at that age should really know better.

But you know your never gonna be able to stop it. A great deal of the time, the girls are just as down for it as the older guys. But the difference is, a lot of the time they dont have the experience and maturity to actually be smart about their choices when it comes to sex. You live and you learn though right.

BTW-- In biblical times, 12-14 was around the age girls got married and started having children.

So, 'Shi-1' is basically right.. Its mostly cultural.. But if you wanna talk science behind it, anything under 16 is really just a bad idea...

In most cases of Statutory rape. Who is it that press charges. The parents, kids, or the state. Because in order for it to really be rape the person does have to disagree with the sexual action in order for it to be rape. So if the "victim" of the statutory rape isnt really a victim there shouldn't really be a problem with it. It should be up to the kid weather to press charges on the person and no one else. Because i beleive in most situations of Statutory rape the person goes along with it and are ok and agree with it. I hear to many girls in my high school talking about dating older guys and how they "lay it down" too much for me to see that there is really much of a gay in like 8/10 of the cases that are presented. But bottem line if the victim does not press charges I dont really see a case in the matter.

most states have two year laws though...

statutory rape is one of the hardest charges to beat if the 'victim' is under 16. Mostly because the parents feel their child was taken advantage of, and as the child isnt a adult yet the power to prosecute lies within the parents OR the state if the parents decide they dont want to press charges.

believe me the state will pick up as many cases as it can to get convictions.

its all about money, a conviction or cop out means money for that state and a better image towards the public

but on to the main topic....... i say until ur in ur 20s, u really should date someone within ur age range of 2 years above or 2 years below........but by the time ur 20 u will probably (whether u go to college or not) be livin primarily on ur own, so u should be mature enough to handle somethin like sex and make the right decision with a person ANY age older then u.......

The thing that annoys me is that everyone takes numbers as in ages into account more than the particular person. If you're 18 fucking a girl 17 years and 10 months old it's way less acceptable than fucking a girl on her 18th birthday. I don't give a fuck about age, it should be judged on sexual maturity both physically and mentally. There's a big difference from a 15 year old who's mature and intelligent as opposed to a 15 year old who still giggles when they hear the word "penis". There might not be as many 18 year olds still ignorant and easily taken advantage of as opposed to 15 year olds, but people don't call people on it as much at all.

to me, the thing is i've always maintained a belief (even when i was legally underrage) that i'd start having sex once i was 16 and older...with someone the same age as me or older because then i wouldn't have to play into the game of statutory rape ya get me.

i lost it @ 17 to an 18 year old, and since i left my baby's mom i hooked up wit a 28 year old :evilgrin: and my current girlfriend is 23 in November.

but to clear things, in my mind UK law is the legal age for consentual sex is 16 (and 18 for homosexual couples). now to me i think the legal age for homosexual sex should be the same as hetrosexual because it's kinda discriminating even though it's nothing to do with me but i think that the legal age is perfectly seated @ 16. Now there's talk of it perhaps being lowered to 14!

Now if someone above the statutory rape age has sex with someone UNDER it...then it's wrong in my eyes because it's on a level of pevertness in my opinion...

if 2 people under the statutory age have sex...then meh what you gonna do?...they did it...but then i think what you need to do is make them aware of the consequences of their actions so that if they carry on, they'll know not to contract an STD or even get a girl pregnant...
