2pac...i got to say something about him..

okay..now i know i'm gonna get a lot of hate from this...but i like tupac, yes. and he is a dope rapper, yes. but why does so many think he is the best rapper to ever touch the mic?

personally i just think its because of the westcoast/east coast brawl in the mid nintys that lead to biggie and tupacs deaths......and peole just jumped on the bandwagon of saying that he is the dopest rapper ever.

Now this is what i think about tupac....hes dope yea...but to me he is to repetitive...his flow, his lyrics and all is kinda the same in most of his songs...
that my opinion.....i DON'T!! think he is the greatest rapper ever (him nor Biggie) and i'm not going to say who i think the greatest rapper ever is because then people will start talking a bout that instead of this....the people that know me already know who i think is the best rapper ever..hint hint, hes from Detroit.....and no not Em.....hehehe

so thast what i got to say about tupac....

Kriptic 08-11-06 12:37 AM

i didnt read the last paragraph..im lazy haha but i agree..hes good..but hes overrated really..

Ysdat 08-11-06 12:44 AM

I'm not even gonna hate..

In my opinion, very few rappers have ever come near pac's level... So many of his songs I can sit back and just relate on so many levels to every word the guy says, I dont care whether you are the same way or not.. But I have never found a rapper who I feel like I can really apreciate music wise and lyric wise on the same level as I apreciate the work pac did while he was here.

Straight up..

To me personally, nobody was as real as pac, nobody had more skill to express themselves so perfectly in a track and the only person I really think comes close to pac's level is Eminem...

Sure I listen to other rappers and think, wow, that was a dope track.. But with pac its just not the same........Its on a compleatly different level...

and ya know i respect that...i respect anyones opinion on who they think is the greatest....but where i really get heated is when people can't give me a valid answer on why they think they are the greastest.....but you laid out how you feel and i respect that....

Ca'lam 08-11-06 01:11 AM

hes not the greatest rapper ever touch a mic, because the greatest rapper to ever touch a mic.....didnt.

that and theres lots of cats just as good. you just gotta be in the right place at the right time.

hes ONE of the greatest tho. but the greatest rappers is a looooooooooong list. for many different reasons.

( by rapper i mean rapping skills. not how many albums sold and all that SHALLOW superficial shit.. so jay z is not on that list... at all.... :gfy: )

~Tony Green~ 08-11-06 01:12 AM

I believe Pac and Nas is really the best to ever bless a Mic but Biggi got a flow that'll kill both of'em but Nas takes so much heat cause peeps sayin he trynna be like Pac I don't know

villagepimp 08-11-06 01:16 AM

Pac is hardly the greatest at all.

But he's definately up there.

I would concur with you on that.

im guessing its royce da 5'9" that you're talkin about near the end?

but pac is the fuckin man he'll always be near the top of my list and its sad that newer generations will probably look up to people like lil wayne and say pac is wack and shit but w/e, i agree when it comes to skills/lyrics and shit hes not the best ever, but like nos said i related to him on so much of the shit he said and very few people can be close to pac's level as far as emotion and inspiration is concerned

Ca'lam 08-11-06 01:47 AM

SPEAKING of royce.. anyone got any links to any of his mixtapes -_-

Kriptic 08-11-06 01:51 AM

^^ word to the eminem thing......but i think eminem was better then pac..or is... but thats just me.. haha

Ca'lam 08-11-06 01:53 AM

nahhh ^.. its not fair, cause pac came first, pioneered his style, and em got a chance to sample that and learn from that. so you cant compare the two.

well i dont' know Ca'lam.....because when eminem first came out big on the scene with his "Slim Shady LP"...his style was pretty different from pacs....

Chris Stylez 08-11-06 02:10 AM

Tupac has talent well had talent...I wouldn't say lyrical wise he was the nicest rapper to ever touch the mic but in rap he was one of the biggest icon to ever touch the mic and was one of the few rappers to actualy stay real to themselves unlike soo many rappers now.

Ca'lam 08-11-06 02:16 AM

no doubt. but he still was inflenced by pac you know / pacs story telling.. pacs emotion.. pacs hardness.. all of which you see in eminem.. of cource their flows are different. but pac never had anyone to, for a lack of a better word, "borrow" anything from.

em said it himself. he borrowed shit from biggy nas jay pac and all the greats. the greats never had no one to borrow shit from for real.. they were the pioneers. todays rappers SHOULD be better. they should further the art ya know ?

High-Dro 08-11-06 08:16 AM

speakin of royce...im hungry for a new album....independent's day was ill....now...i want a new one

Shear Kaughn 08-11-06 11:29 AM

^^calm down calm down....he is coming with a new one.....i was on his myspace and he said hes comign with a new one..

Euthanize. 08-11-06 11:40 AM

seriously?

a Tupac thread.

Compose 08-11-06 01:56 PM

i personally couldnt stand independents day i only liked a couple tracks, he needs to come out with another death is certain that album is classic

.Ike. 08-11-06 02:31 PM

damn i thought independence day was beast...i still listen to that shit all the time...

but uhh yea..

i agree with nos

Tha .Q 08-11-06 02:45 PM

skill wise, Biggie was a bettre rapper. Anyone who isn't a Biggie hater has to admit that rap skill wise, TECHNICALLY, Biggie was a superior rapper to Pac. Now, as far as message and influence, we could argue that.

Tupac was good. But truth is, nobodies ever even heard of the dopest person to touch the mic. And that is basically word.

p4ntzistheish 08-11-06 03:55 PM

I'm the hottest person to touch a mic. Seriously it's like 105 degrees in my house.

M Eazy 08-11-06 04:48 PM

In my opinion, Pac got 70% of his fans because he's dead and he got real popular when he died. It was like they promoted the dudes death, to get him more fans.

"Step Yo Game Up"

Get a air conditioner.

p4ntzistheish 08-11-06 04:57 PM

I would but my neighbors are thieves and would try to steal my electricity and/or AC machine. I got an oriental fan though. With diamonds and shit.

P.S. Ours is broken. Repair man hasn't come.

Triple_N 08-11-06 05:05 PM

I agree pac is overated, the reason why--->People's guilability...you get a bunch of so called "experts," popular rappers, an other various music moguls an allumni on TV repeatedly saying "Tupac is the greastest!" suddenly you begin to believe he's the greatest.

Its the same as when you hear a song for the first time an your first impression is "damn this shit is wack" then you go to school an all ya friends is going crazy over it, you give it another listen a few more times an then the song does this miracles bullshit thing people say "It grows on you." Bullshit, you just bought into the hype thats all, everyone wants to be included, nobody wants to be the oddball.

SO, what do you get...you get thousands of people who don't even own a Tupac cd, only know him thru singles, or you get a bunch of people who owned his albums for years an jus liked the beats an hooks...cant quote one verse on the cd or cassette proclaiming him rap's god.

In realitiy Tupac was a marketing genious, Pac skill was drawing attention to himself. He was the king of controversy an sensationalism. When at his height roughly 93-til his death...he was on TV everyday for a wide assortment of things. Reaching audiences that would never see his videos on MTV.

Musically pac had strong content(at times) an messages in a very simplistic form. He had one of, if not the greastest deliveries of all time. An a universal appeal an MONSTER - SIZED presence that just made you feel what he was saying. You combine his presence with his content i.e. politics, society, life, an a thug life bad boy image...you got the most selling rap artist of all time.

Sean Gunner 08-11-06 05:18 PM

The reason most people liked Tupac was because they could relate to him. No matter where you come from, he rapped about something you could go 'Ya, I know what he's saying'. He said how he felt, and he didn't worry about beiong politically correct. His appeal was the truth he spoke.

Indeph 08-11-06 11:18 PM

I hate how pac gets penalyzed for his support. This always happens to people when alot of people like them. Someone could come out and one person could love their shit, but then as soon as some idiots like them too all of a sudden their wack. Tupac is fuckin ill. If you don't know why that's your problem. And by "your" i mean this imaginary guy who I hate.

.Ike. 08-11-06 11:42 PM

i just honestly dont think anyone is better...

lmfao @ biggie being better

hell no...crazy as a crack baby

Shear Kaughn 08-12-06 12:39 AM

personally think biggie is one of the most overated rappers

de_de1016 08-12-06 12:54 AM

lol nahhhhhh technically, pac had better breath control (cause biggie was fat), pac had better messages collectively, their flows are apples and oranges, and pa fucked biggies wife.......

lpac definately had better presence in my eyes. i mean, technicalities i think pac edges him out.

but liek you said,

its debatable.

*expects hate from die hard new yorkers*

Compose 08-15-06 02:15 PM

^i consider myself a die hard new yorker and i think biggie is overated lol pac is dope
