Skateboarding
Who here skateboards? I'm tryin to get into it, but I need some help picking a deck. I'm a big dude so what kind of board should I get? I was thinking an 8 inch.
|
get a car.
skaters are losers. |
Coming from a man nobody likes. Anyway if you got friends that skate try theirs. If it's comfortable get something like it.

No, people who pay $3/ gallon are losers. I'm sick of feeding the greed of the oil companies who over charge us, we don't need gas we just have become lazy. Bikes and other forms of transportation with save us, physically and enviromentally. |
serb's a fagget....
get a birdhouse man..there usually bigger..the widder ones are really solid.... what ever u do dont get an element. lol there light and willl brake on ya |
It depends on what you're looking for. For doing tricks and some light skating around then really any shortboard would work. As far as decks go I don't have much of a preference, I try and really just go with something with style because really the deck doesn't make a big difference for the board. If you're going to do some cruising which is what I'm more into look into getting a long board. Right now I'm riding a Pocket Pistol Ditch Killer 44" and I love it, best board I've rode in a long time. I'd also look into a Sector 9 Luke Nosewalker or an Arbor Pin, they're the only longboards I've consistantly riden. But yea, longboarding is a good way to chill and cruise around on.

A) You can get most of all skateboards wide. Not just birdhouse. You can choose length, width, concave and all that. B) Element are light but only easy to break if you land wrong. Land on the bolts and it lasts you a while. |

that's very true lol. I used to skate. I don't know just get the biggest sized skates they sell at the shop. Unless you don't want a trick style board. |

Birdhouses are 'thicker' as you say because it'sslightly easier to handle doing Vert, the style that majority of B-House are attuned to, as well as Tony himself. Elements aren't 'lighter', just made slightlydifferent and with a lighter wood if I rememberright, more attuned for Street and Park skating. He could still very easily get an Element, itmore depends on what he plans to do while skating, if he's casuallyriding itdoesn't matterhow light the board is as all he'd be doing is riding around. But if he were to be learning tricks, Street most likely I'd still wouldn'tadvise the Elemnt as they are made for more advanced skaters (Because if you fuck up too much it will break), but it'd still be better than a B-House mostlikely. And as Kirk said You can in most cases get a board to your specification, and even in a shop they have different sizes, concaves and widths in the same graphic...at least good stores. I order thru CCS, so I get mine their default size...it fits me. I'd advise maybe going to www.ccs.com and checking them out. (To Sane). P.S. I've been skating for going on 11 years. Test me...and Kirk skates probably more than I do. We know our shit, |
hahaha. getting all technical and shit...you sound like a fagget..... buy a bird house if ur lookin for a heavier sterdy board 'sane',, but if u want it lighter & easily brakeable...but an element....
|
So I sound like a faggot because I actually proved your point and made a counter point. As far asI know that's called an 'intelligent discussion'. But to hell if I know anything.
|
nah man...there no reason to try to get technical....kids wants a good sterdy board because hes a big kid...he dont need a fuckign essay ont he wood struture of the board....
tell him to buy a bridhouse, and keep moving.... who trys to prove a point over a skateboard.. sane man get a birdhouse...you'll be good with that |

That's one instance. Quote:
Another. Plus the fact that you tried to be the end all be all in skating on RV made me knock you off your high horse. Considering 'omg B-House is thicker...Element is teh sucksss' isn't really helpin matters. If Sane is serious about skating it helps to know how to tell a 'Vert' boardfrom a'Street' board, to ease the learning curve. Andif you read the post you'd see I even told him the best placeto order from. I can't help it I'm not on Birdhouse's dick. Hell B-House sucks nowadays, if anything get a Girl. Those are bananas. |
yo sane...get a birdhouse...
LSF man shut the fuck up? you sound just like fletcher trying to act intelligent and shit on these dumb ass threads...... and i aint on birdhouses dick..i hate birdhouse boards..but hea a big kid..so it works..and yeah girl's are good... i lioke enjoi... but they aint the best either |
This site is full'ed with a bunch of fucking skater losers.
wow. you all make me sick. |
lol fuck the fuck up...
...go shit on some one,,since you think its so badass. --_-- |

You got my name wrong. And who said I was acting intelligent. And going by every other post you made in here you wouldn't know that you 'hated' B-House. Sorry if I skatewith some kind of a brain as opposed to'Ooh watch it flip', and don't see skating as a 'Dumb Ass Thread'. And who the hell the hell is Fletcher? |
idc about spelling ur name right,, and i said ur ACTING intelligent...its the internet..sum the shit up dont get technical with the making of a board.... and yeah man..pay attetion... i dont like birdhouse boards... ive been saying..there better for a bigger kid... and your not into the " watch it flip" ?? haha what do you do...just puch ur board around? if so you suck..b/c if u been skating for 11 years....you;d be sick.....and nick fletcher is some douchbag that trys getting into everythign and sounding smart..but looks liek a jackass..liek you are doing about a skateboard
|
By the 'Watch it flip' I was saying that I don't skate just to do tricks, I skate cuz it's relaxing and keeps me in shape. But like any hobby it doesn't hurt to know a little bit about what youre doing. Granted tricks are fun, but right now Im no out for cheap thrills, Im just relaxing and readying up for life, maturing as some would say. I never got into the making of the board in anyof the posts, I just said why Birdhouse was thicker, andeven helped Saneby saying that for learning purposes he shouldn't get one. Similar to you saying how Element's breaksodon't get one. Isee no reall difference, except that I gave a reason why to not getone, and you are just saying it.
But since you say I'm technical I will get technical. Get each of the following Sane. (Note: this is going by my friend's board...he's about 230, says he likes it.) ~8 inch Etnies ~80 mm Spitfire Wheels ~I don't rememebr his bearings, But they are Bones Swiss Ceramics. Good shit. ~If you want Risers, get about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Since you're bigger it'll give more room so yuour wheels don't bite. If you don't definately get Shock Pads. I have Risers cuz they were cheaper, once I get a new jobI'll upgrade. ~Independent Trucks are my favorite. There. That may or may notwork.Try some stuff out,if it's comfortable skate on. If not, boards are fairly easy to mess with, mix and match stuff til you like it. I remember once I cut 2 boards in half and tried to glue em togeher...didn't work. But it was fun getting that Boardslide off. Well trying to. |
