under the assumption that i have ADD (what you get for not giving a fuck bout school and going against everything bout what people told u bout how u should feel at school)...docter said i had it since i was 3 even though
i was not in any school, the doctor himself didnt know me when i was 3 and still doesnt know me and hasnt been inside my brain but yet he says i have it

all makes sense right..

will because of ADD i cant join the army, marines, navy, or coastguard
because its considered a disability and your not usefull to the government
u also cant have reg. ed in school ur put in a slow class which most schools have...its called L.D....doesnt matter whether or not u have ADD or not

That is pretty sad that the teachers and doctors nowadays just give up on a kid and use the ADD excuse for why they aren't doing well in school. Years ago, I've heard that if you ever wanted to do law enforcement type work like being a FBI agent, if you ever got put on ritalin, you were automatically disqualified. It's funny that a few years back, they had commercials by the drug companies for adults with ADD, and there were like 5 questions on a website and if you answered yes or maybe to a couple of them, the site will tell you to go see a doctor.

I'm sure there are lots of people like you who can't pay attention in class when something isn't interesting. Hell, I couldn't read a textbook and recall what I've read a few minutes later, and it takes me forever to finish a page, but give me a good story book, I can finish that in a night.. The only advice I can give is prove it to them that you are normal by actually trying. Or maybe consider doing vocational type stuff if that interests you.

As far as you joining the armed forces ...You got to keep in mind that your responsible for the lives of you, and the Troop on the left and right of you as they are for you. When you go to combat, you go into a world where you got to be focused and be able to keep a leveled head and sane mind to be able to carry out the mission. ADD is nothing that'll hold you back unless its up to the point in which you can't pay attencion when someone is talking to you. Man, I had the exact same shit. I did absolutely no work, hardly payed attention, spent class time doing anything but what the class was meant to do... School was the GAYEST shit ever. They even told me I had ADD as well, and put me in the lowest classes for everything. And they said I had to see the school psychologist regularly.

Then one year I got a dope english teacher. Her name was Mrs Pride, and I still talk to her today. Basically, she saw straight through me after teaching me for a while. She noticed that I went shit in all of my other subjects, and in most english exams I went shit as well. But whenever there was an exam based on creative writing I did well. She asked to talk to me after class. She said to me, "Look, I know school is a pain in the neck. It's hard to be motivated when the stuff you have to learn is so dreadfully boring. The way things work is terrible, it's all a big game. Education is trying to pick out the people who play the game best. Anyone who doesn't play the game is looked over. Most of the time those people deserve to be looked over, but sometimes there are amazing musicians, poets, writers, philosophers that get caught up in the system."

At this point I figured, oh well, I guess im just one of those cunts that deserves to be looked over. Im not gonna go into detail about my social/filial situation, but that shit wasnt good. When you act like scum, the world treats you like scum. Positive words were scarce in my childhood, and children need that shit for their self-worth and esteem to grow. Anyway, this english teacher kept saying insane shit in her comments on the work I submitted. Like whoa wtf I was blown away by the shit she was saying. One that I can remember very clearly was "20/20. This is a beautiful story. It's emotional, humorous and engaging, but still addresses the cliched stimulus material. You have an extraordinary gift, I look forward to seeing what great things you do in the future."

For the rest of the day I was like wtf? How could anyone be saying that kind of shit to ME? ME of all people, with a bright future... The ADD kid in all the shitty classes, who never goes well in anything and needs to take pills so he doesnt do something stupid.

It sounds like a bunch of bullshit stupid conspiracy "the man", but you truly are just a statistic and it is imprinted in your mind that college is of the utmost importance. Everyone wants to maintain a respectful environment at school and they want to stop fights, though a peaceful resolution is only reached if you have a competent guidance counseler; but there are people who you shouldn't have to respect, and you shouldn't have to sit in class and respect every person there like the teachers say because there are assholes in the world and the school system is attempting to mold you into a conformist.

But you have to go through it, and you can prove that you don't have A.D.D. Maybe go to the principal and tell him "Just because I don't like school doesn't mean you can ruin my life by diagnosing me with some shit that is based off the fact I have a personal opinion you cannot handle, so you have to degrade me by making me feel like a loser and an idiot by sending me to a special class". Prove to the principal and the guidance counselor you shouldn't be classified as an idiot, and maybe throw in "for all the talk of equality and quality of student performances schools pride themselves on, when was the last time you cared about all of your students"?

And if they don't listen to you, they're fucking assholes and you should consider switching schools or something.

If you want to spend the rest of your days working as hard as you are now, I guess go crazy. Just imagine, 30 years of working as hard as you are now.
