Is the glass half empty or half full?

In your opinion.

∆ P E X X 09-05-06 01:50 PM

its just half way.

but truthfully i noticed if a glass was full and is being drank, I'll say "half empty" since empty was the eventual goal, just as a bucket filling with rain would be "half full" to me.

it just is what it is.

TitoBronsky 09-05-06 02:34 PM

the glass is always half full... as it is half empty....

N.Tavarez 09-05-06 02:38 PM

for me
the glass is half full
cuz optimism is key

depends, are you pouring out water, or filling it up

Terumoto 09-05-06 08:36 PM

You walk into a room, and the glass is just on the table with water in it.

La Cosa Nostra 09-05-06 11:06 PM

Realistically.. Its just half way...

Half full and half empty are just optional lynguistic descriptions of the same thing.

Terumoto 09-05-06 11:09 PM

Actually, if you want to get technical, its not even half way... Its impossible for the water to be exactly half the capacity of the cup.

Unless you could measure it particle by particle.

It's just "half way". You'd have to be anal retentive to cite a particle count.

Terumoto 09-05-06 11:33 PM

Well heres the answers that have come up for this question before:

Half empty (pessimist)
Half full (optimist)
Half empty (positive version)
Half full (negative version)
Both half full and half empty.
Niether half full or half empty.
The water doesnt exist.
Water should be consumed, not discussed.

I think theres more, but I cant remember.

Do not try to guess if the glass is half full or half empty. That is impossible. Instead try to realize the truth. There is no glass.

thats my view too

if it starts empty but gets filled up half way then it's half full

but if it's full then reduced half way then it's half empty...

however...it ALWAYS has to start empty to achieve fullness...

so...are our own lives half empty because we are trying to achieve fullness?
