yo audio heads who use pre-amp and cool edit and shit.......
ok, I used to record on this computer from '99, shitty shit. But anyways lately shit started fuckin' up, like freezing all the time, so I basically said "FUCK YOU" to it, and stopped using it. So now I'm using my new laptop that I bought.
and uhh so I installed cool edit all that shit, and I Attempted to record and came up with 2 problems: 1. When I recorded on the computer something funky happened without me knowin' what I did, but I LIKED IT. lol it was like whenever I recorded, I could hear like what was going into the microphone thru my headphones. Like if it popped on a "P" word or shit, I would hear it thru my headphones. but now it doesn't happen. Anyone know how I could configure it to do that again? 2. Whenever I record, it feels like there's a fuckin' delay. Like it delays my vocals like .5 seconds or so. iunno, but it fucks up the flow and makes my shit off beat a bit. anyone know what might be problem? if anyone could answer these 2 problems for me, you will be considered a god in my book. peace |

ah yea not me poor you........
|
^don't make fun :( this shit really pissing me off
|
you computer may not be able to process the info your tryin to give it....
or maybe cool edit aint compatible wit the system your runnin it on.... ghetto fix would be.... runnin the beat on somethin else... cd player... and record your vocals only... not over the beat in cool edit... then insert the beat after you record your vocals.... maybe by doin that you can bypass the computer funk??? i dont know... juss what came to me when i read that... wish i could get more technical... but im runnin outta here on some errands.... good luck wit that though :) |
^aiight thanks yo..
but delay ain't really my biggest problem. I wanna be able to get the shit to come thru the headphones. where's apexx when you need him? :( |
well wit the freezin shit...if i open cool edit before i plug my interface and shit inta the usb it freezes for a sec and then it asks ta send an error report or whatever
but it works fine if i plug it in afterwards |
I can answer question 1.
if you turn the feed on ur mic up...u can hear it on ur head phones. But it also picks up more surrounding noise. |
^iunno, when I had it going on my old computer, I didn't pick up that much feed. The same as my laptop. iunno tho, I'll try that tho. thanks
|
Iunno my balls! it works.....jag's suck, an when we doin that song....
|
^man, I was trying to record for that track when this happened. lol I need to fix this before I can record.
|
u silly fucker u
|
lol i just tried again, shit be fuckin' up still. All I really care about is the headphones thing. Cuz I think the delay was because of me having a corrupt version of CE on it.
so that's really all I need |
oh, shit I was just talkin' to someone I think i might know why, or could be possible reason why.
for my computer I plugged headphones DIRECTLY in back of computer, not to my speakers. So that's maybe why i could hear the feedback. But in the laptop they only have one outlet for the headphones, so maybe that could be why? shit iunno :( |
ur suppose to plug ur headphones into the pre amp silly
|
^man my pre-amp don't got a spot for headphones
|
cheap ass!..............
|
Get cubase,it's much better.
|
^wtf son, that has nothing to do with my question

lol w/e yo. I do what I need to get by nah mean? but shit, I tried again, and shit like freezes like RIGHT in the middle of my recording the fuck |
cubase blows the big one.
not user freindly |
fuckk, I searched google everywhere. I NEED to know. someone must know this shit. damn sonnnnnnnnz
|
this what someone on another site that in respone:
to #1: there's a soundcard setting to fix that...im not sure what it is though cus my audigy soundcard comes w/ a different control panel to #2: you have a wack soundcard that doesn't process incoming sound as quickly as it should. invest in a new one for the 1, shit. how can I sent soundcard setting? anyone? :( |
Thats wierd... I have never had what was coming through the mic NOT play through my speakers/headphones.
|
^damn, I usually never had it COMING thru my headphones. whyyy must this happen to me? :(
does it work same with laptop? also I think it could be my soundcard. but yo, what's a good soundcard to get? And like uhh how would I put it in? |
Just look around and read reviews of a few soundcards and get whichever one is dope. They're not hard to put in on PCs but im not sure about laptops. I think your best bet would be to get an external soundcard..
|
external soundcard? word? I'ma check up on it like Beyonce :shoot:
|
well wif tha laptop u can use it anywhere right?
GIT THA FUCK AWAY FRUM THAT BEEPIN SHIT!!! werd |
^LMAO yea, i can't tho. cuz i got my mic nailed to my wall so i still gotta be in that room. lmao
