aiight wtf? recording issues....
aiight so I got my fast track USB, and my wire to connect my pre-amp to fast track, cuz I need phantom power for my mic, and my pre-amp has that. But uhh so i did all this, checked to see if it recorded. I get the feeback thru the headphones (WORD TO THAT!) but uhh when i record, i hear this loud annoying like BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPP" shit that just continune going on. Like a flatline sound. And i see the bottom, like when I say something in mic, the meter shit go up meanin' like it heard sound, but it don't show up on cool edit. Like nothing records. Wtf @ that. anyone know what's going on?

uhh, you need more detail and to be more specific. when you say "feedback through the headphones" do you mean electrical feedback or do you mean "oh i hear my own voice and i wanted to call it feedback"?
the way your fastrack should be set up is as your primary audio device, so make sure it's set to the default input in your program (prolly fooledit) instead of your preamp. and monitor through the computer and not the fast track, you need to hear what the final sound output is not jsut what the fast track hears. oh yeah, make sure you didn't get a 1/4" guitar plug as your input and your input to the fast track is XLR or else you won't hear jack shiddit. apply these if you already haven't and lemme know how it goes. |

and in your recording program it has to be set as default input where's your mic input and mix volumes at on the fasttrack it self? |

oh man you got the tube pre? i had that chunk of shit once.
but check it, remember how i was telling you about using guiter cable? See how the cable thta meets your Fast Track's input has an image of a guitar above it? ...yeah. That's the wrong cable. You need an XLR male to female cable, and that's gonna run from the output onthe tube pre to the input on the fast track and you can disconnect that shit you call an xlr, that's what's causing your feedback (you know...REAL feedback, not what you think sounds cool if you call it "feedback") because you have two inputs going to the same source. BTW the shit you called an XLR cable is NOT. XLR is the 3-pinned wire that every audio device in the world uses and its about time you learned the correct terminology. XLR goes into mics, it goes into guitars, keyboard, everything. stop saying "thingy" and "whatever", you're not 5yrs old anymore. |
