iono how ppl with alot alot of acne manage it.

put a cream on last night and it killed.

JTR 10-12-06 12:34 AM

lol, how old are you? wtf

Terumoto 10-12-06 12:36 AM

You increase your chances of getting acne by like 600% or some shit depending on the food you eat.

If you've eaten healthy food all your life and you still have acne its just because of how your skin is.

SerB 10-12-06 12:43 AM

I'm 16.

iono, ive never got those pimples and shit for awile, I didn't even eat healthy, i played alot of sports and shit and was sweaty and didn't wash, but my skin stayed fine.

like this summer i started to get some on my chest, that went away then it started on my face.

KOOL COL-B 10-12-06 12:45 AM

rub bacon grease on where ever u git it, seriously, it works. my neighbor did that shit n it worked illy. duzznt have 2 b from bacon, but tha same kinda shit, u know what i mean, werd

Paranoid 10-12-06 12:46 AM

I have a lotion type thing I put on and wash it off and then I put rubbing alcohol on it and then this cream shit and I do that everynight before I go to bed and I make sure my pillow sheets are clean every week. cuz usually the greese gets on ya pillow sheets, and be sure not to touch ya face a lot. and wash it a lot, trust me if you can wash it a lot and keep it clean with no greese you'll be good man.

JTR 10-12-06 12:56 AM

Shear Kaughn 10-12-06 01:03 AM

I used to break out a lot when I wrestled, as all we did for 3 hours after school was sweat. A lot of stress also came with the sport, and it started fucking me up. So, junior year I stopped and now I'm fine.

La Cosa Nostra 10-12-06 01:42 AM

I missed out on the acne thing all together lmao...

I mean I got a random pimple here and there when I was younger.. But it was never more than one and usually I just didnt have any at all........

Tha .Q 10-12-06 03:45 AM

3 things cause acne

Oil
Bacteria
Dead skin cells

When your skin doesn't flake off its dead skin cells, bacteria that naturally lives on the skin get trapped beneath it. Then, the oil on your face plugs it all in. As a result, your own body's immune system perceives that area as an infection because of the bacteria and send white blood cells to "fight" off the disease. What results is a PIMPLE/BUMP or w/e.

To help prevent acne, make sure you exfoliate your skin daily. Then, use a cleanser that removes oils. As for the bacteria component, use a small% of Benzoyl peroxide or Salicylic acid 2 times a week.

Stress can exacerbate acne by increasing your skin's oil levels, which consequently raises one of the factors that cause acne. Foods, contrary to the myth, don't "break you out".

Don't the foods you eat affect the amount and kind of oil your body makes?

Typically, the saying is that chocolate and greasy foods make you break out. That's the myth. OIL contributes to acne. But, that's the oil your skin makes, not what you ingest. If you're allergic to a certain food, you may break out in hives. But, that's not acne per se. As far as foods making you produce more oil, not directly. If a particular food causes you stress, then yes because stress produces oil.

BTW SERB...Overly dry skin can cause acne as well! I know confusing right!?! Naw, you just have to strike a balance with your skin. Nothing extreme...

Terumoto 10-12-06 04:48 AM

But aren't the foods what your body uses to make the oil?

Of course food period is what your body uses to produce all the proteins and other components of your body. But, greasy foods don't cause acne unless you smear it on your face. The problem with people who are prone to acne is that they tend to produce too much oil naturally. This is a genetic disposition. And, the myth that eating pizza and burgers causes bumps is pretty much blaming the victim. Acne is a disease that can be controlled through knowledgeable and informed procedures.

I used to get a ton of acne a few years ago. Now,at 16,I don't get any at all...my skin is clear.

What I do is wash my face more.A lot more.Like 3-4 times a day.I have a certain lotion I use too,for balance so my skin doesn't dry up.Costed like 2$ but it works.

I don't use any magic face wash neither.I use this one from the company "Aveeno"...cost like 5$.
I just think it's pathetic to fork over 30$ on something like Pro Active just to get rid of acne.A lot of my friends bought that shit...and their acne hasn't improved one bit.

Also, another thing I did when I stopped breaking out was eating healtier too.Like less fatty foods and absolutely NO soda whatsoever.I bassically been drinking water like crazy.

I read from a bodybuilding website that water is essential to a healty diet and lifestyle. That it helps flush wastes and toxins from your sytem.
It may sound like it's hard...to just stop drinking soda and go to water primarily. But trust me..it's not.(I dunno if this eating healtier thing really has an effect on acne.I'm just saying that my acne did slow down when I started. It could be a coincidence.)

DQ 10-12-06 01:59 PM

For girls, going on birth control often gets rid of acne. You only "break out" then when you're on your period (hormone levels). And as Q said, your diet doesn't influence your acne.

dazy 10-12-06 02:56 PM

I've had acne since who knows when. It's usually worst during the summer from the heat and the oil that builds up and I don't get around to washing my face often enough. It probably doesn't help that I have a habit of absentmindedly picking/scratching at it when I'm sitting at the computer reading something or watching a movie. I can just imagine all the bacteria I'm getting onto my face from the keyboard and mouse.

In my case, what I've found to clear mine up was using Clean & Clear's Blackhead Clearing Scrub which has salicylic acid and microbeads to exfoliate when I shower at night and then Clean & Clear's benzoyl peroxide before I go to bed a few hours later. I think I found out about that combo from the www.acne.org forums. When the scrub ran out, I decided to try their Continuous Control face wash that just has salicylic acid, but the acne started coming back, so I'm on longer using that. Using just the benzoyl peroxide by itself never did work. When you treat it, it also doesn't go away instantly.. Got to do the regiment almost daily and it may take 2-3 months before it all clears up. Also try sleeping on your back without your face buried in your pillow...the less you touch your face the better.

N.Tavarez 10-13-06 09:40 AM

yeah man ya pillow is the source of alot of dirt and bacteria
specially if you a drooling mo fucker
and your mouse and keyboard has more bacteria than most objects you touch in a day
i keep hand sanitizer on my desk just for that reason
