Like iunno it's like I know from example. Like when I FIRST started rapping, like my FIRST ever audio, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WACKKK. lol but i showed people at my school, and they all like "Damn, that's hot". Like shit no matter how bad you are your hometown people will MOST PROBABLY hype you up no matter how bad you are, some will give it straight but mostly likely they'll think it's hot. So for a situation like that, some rappers might take it to their head like "Hahaha i'm dope, yEA SON!!! I gotta keep doing what I do, i'm hot, why the fuck do I need to worry about tryin' to get better? I'm ALREADY HOT SON!!" and iunno they just take it to heart. They gotta learn to be real, and not get caught up in all that hype.

like shit I like Game's music, but he recently been saying some stupid shit. I forget, like where he said something like he up their on the level with Jay-Z nas and tupac all time. OR some shit like that. I mean, shit, egos are big reason why a lot of rappers never improve and just stay the same. gotta learn to be real with yourself

some people have a realistic view of their skills, and some people don't. some people are motivated by wanting to be more good (compulsion), and other people are motivated by wanting to suck less (aversion). that second type don't want to make changes till their ego's cracked to shit
