Question for Apexx or someone who knows about recording equipment
 

Alright Well I was gonna record a track today and My mixer lights were off and it wouldn't even connect then there was a buzzing sound in my headphones I unplugged it and the sound was gone..then i tried plugging it in again and there was no light and nothing was working..I've only had thsi thing since like Feb. What do you think could be wrong with it?

wow, ur gonna need to give more specifics than that.... how about some specs....

not sure if this will help. but i used to run the mixer at my church and usually it was placement of the mic. so then i'd have to move one and the sound was gone. jus thought id throw that out there..

is there a different switch for the phantom power that you have to turn on?

i'll keep it real wit ya man, if you got a $100 mixer and it craps out on you, just call it a loss b.

put $100 into a fasttrack USB which'll last forever, sound is completely transparent and blows your mixer right out the toilet.

is that fast track gonna be good? i got the money for that right now i got about 120

was your mixer your powersource? or you had a seperate one?

it was my powersource for my 48 v or whatever....

ok, then you're gonna need a seperate power supply which you can get for 25-35 bucks and a cord to run from the phantom to the fast track and you're done.

damn i only got like 70 right now.....thats why i might just have to wait to save up for all that shit but i also need a better mic its like FUCK

an MXL v63m and its what i've been recording with since Pure Thought it sounds decent but I want to step it up

mm word, i can see why. try that fasttrack first champ you'll notice an improvement in your sound qual right off the bat, then take it from there

Good mic. Go for the Rhode NT1-A if you've got AKG 2000 money.

Of course the Rode lol. But as far as the mixer, Behringer Mixers are known to be faulty at times. It is pretty safe to say its blown.

If it sounded like shit, its because of his setup, not the Mic, the mic is a good one. But yea man, your only going to get what you pay for as far as quality when it comes to equipment.

I fuck with guitar center. That place is like my haven. I like going in the back and messing around on the tables, and keyboards. Checking out the hardware too. Its goodshit, love that place.
