Seen a little bit of this documentary on the history channel about how it all came about and what not.

the part I tuned in on was how they said back in the days when coca leaves were discovered people were using it for a quick pick me up. instead of going and getting coffee in the morning..they'd go pick some coca leaves and eat them. then they said once scientist got to the leaves, they mixed chemicals and whatever in it to make it cocaine. they said they used it in cough medicine ALL the time. and people never knew it was in the cough medicine and were giving it to their kids and everything. there was one scientist/psycologist. who started taking cocaine everyday morning noon and night.. and would record his feelings and said how his sex drive would go up the wall and that it made him more creative blah blah...


But what i found to be fucked up about it was that they said they used to give cocaine to slaves, so that their endurance would increase and they'd be able to work longer hours. But they said cocaine was A okay in the beginning and was just this miricale drug that wasnt illegal. until one day a few slaves rebelled against the slave owners..........

from what i gathered they pretty much said that cocaine became illegal because slaves whom of which were beating ragged seen friends and family killed on the spot...slaves whom of which were held against their will...slaves whom of which barely ate...and wasnt allowed to be taught or to learn anything....basically acted in such rage because of JUST the drug alone.
and on top of that..they really made it illegal because they knew about how the drug had an effect on the sex drive and felt that all the slave men would rape the white women.....

^well yea im sure it didnt officially become illegal until then BUT. they looked at cocaine in a totally different aspect ...turned it from good to bad only because slaves did something...i couldnt have survived in them days.

yea they used to say when cocaine was in coke it was used to cure headaches. had it on the label. they used to have it in the bars and people would come in and ask for a shot of coke. nice to know where these things come from

Okay, so some people in the hood can make new drugs out of existing drugs. I call that a complete waste of time, you call that being an intellectual. Fine, we'll agree to disagree.

However, how does being able to make new drugs out of existing ones coincide with the idea that the people in the hood are the ones who know the truth about cocaine? That the government not only produced cocaine, but gave it to black people to try and kill them all. I mean, you haven't addressed the main point in my post yet. nah man i think you're taking what i'm saying the wrong way. i DON'T think someone on the hood created crack, for the same reasons i listed above. just looking at the events that would have to occur alone, that's outside the bounds of logical reasoning.


well being that i didn't say that people in the hood are special because they cam make a new drug (which is dont' believe to be the case), i also don't believe that any such skills would automatically make you knowledgable on the source of cocaine or not.

those two things would be completely irrelevant.


and no i personally dont' think anyone brought coke into those depressed urban invoronments, though i've heard some pretty convincing arguments pertianing to that, citing such factors as access (cocaine has always had the reputation of being a rich man's drug) which in it self would make cocaine out of reach of those who live in such environments. as a matter of fact, prior to the invasion of cocaine, weed was the popular drug with heroine a small fraction of the market. then after cocaine came crack, which is cheaper than cocaine. you couldn't have a market get into crack without first priming it with cocaine.


mime, i'll speak very candidly with you because i know i can and you won't take it to heart. i'm not one to draw wild conclusions. history has shown time and time again that the white man has systematically tried to ahnialate every race in this country through clandestine means, dating back to christopher columbus giving disease infested blankets to native americans as a... i have a question.for u drug lords. what is dope? i heard it can be in refference to any drug..weed,coke,crack,etc... but then someone said to me crack and dope are two different things....
