An explanation ONE MOE TIME why I think Biggie is #1...wow

Again, I listened to his song "My Downfall" all morning long...I've heard this song about 10000000 times. But, I've been studying Biggie's technique (flow/delivery/presence) alot lately. And, what I discovered is that he is brilliant with flow.

#1...In the song "My Downfall" I purposely counted through the beat to keep track of the "snare." Biggie Completely disregards the snare and basically raps to his own cadence. The amazing thing about him doing this is that his flow is "on beat", but NO WHERE, NO WHERE near the cadence. I mean, it almost sounds like his voice is the "beat" and the actual beat is melding around it. AMAZING!

I appreciate how Biggie said what he said more than his actual lyrics, though he was a master at metas.

Lots of people claim to be "better" than Biggie. But, when you go back and study the man's fundamentals, he's unbelieveably gifted and talented.

Well I dont know. Personally I think 2Pac has no flow and Biggie was just an east coast hype man in an age where the east coast scene was dominated by more jazzy artists.

I dont see anything special about Big that separates him from people like Big L or anything.

Ysdat 11-16-06 09:24 PM

yeh bigs flow is nice.

SerB 11-16-06 09:27 PM

Biggie had best flow, nothing new.

Tupac had better lyrics hands down tho.

I'm a fan of flow bro...That' what I focus on...And, Biggie's flow was immaculate...

What amazes me more tho is how when you truly listen to his raps over and over again, u pick up things (nuances) u missed before. That, my friend, is the definition of greatness, IMO.

Listen to the song "My Downfall"...u'll see what Im sayin

but have you heard do i creep you out?...he parodied taylor hicks song do i make you proud...video is funny as shit, so's the lyrics lol

Zone Out 11-17-06 09:25 AM

only clowns would listen to that Weird Al shit

and Biggie is a beast
He's better than Tupac
Tupac was boring as hell, nigga never changed up his flowBiggie had entire albums that was great where he changed up his flow, changed up the subject matter, all of that. Big was all around better
Ready To Die, Life After Death

and lets face it, if Biggie would've dissed Pac back, he would've ended his damn career.

Dufflebag Boy 11-17-06 10:21 AM

ehhh biggie is overrated...guess u can have the same arguement wit 2pac
but 2pac was more than just a rapper..he was a modern day revolutionary
2pac entered the rap game with meaning and had the biggest heart

Zone Out 11-17-06 10:33 AM

lmao
he entered the rap game with meaning and a big heart?
I thought he entered it to be a back up dancer and to wear fruit baskets on his head
IE Digital Underground

jay 11-17-06 11:43 AM

theat was sumtihn he did for cash then he was homeless he never entered the game to do that its jus sumtihn he did u

Zone Out 11-17-06 11:48 AM

jay 11-17-06 12:51 PM

you dont actually think someone just all of a sudden becomes a rap star do u?? he started out like anyone of us...wit crummy jobs and worked his way up..he worked at a pizza place, then he became a back up dancer, then he blew up...he earned it...and yes i admit digital underground was a bit nerdy and dorky but that was digital underground..pac was a WHOLE diffrent thing
if u take time ta actually realize who pac was and what he was about then u too probably be a fan of his

Zone Out 11-17-06 01:30 PM

I dont care about his life, I care about his raps
well, actually I dont care about that either
He was a drama queen, he had decent lyrics in umm, 40% of his tracks, the others was just ranting and cursing.. ALOT of cursing. lmao
He was a better actor than he was a rapper.
If you're one way and you join a group thats another way, that makes you a sell out, Im sorry.
I would never join a group like B5. Why? because Im too hard for that shit. Joining B5 just because its a chance of gettin my music out is coppin out.

and that whole westside til I die shit was bullshit. He was a traitor. Mark ass wannabee gangbanger

2pac got shot 5 times and got shot 4 xtra times which took his life
he died over gang violence...he even shot off guns in his INTERVIEWS
he been arrested and shit for shooting 2 off duty cops in atlanta
and was the creater of "thug life" he set codes for criminals and O.Gs
how is that even anywhere close to a "wannabe gangbanger"????
his shit was the realest ever he talked from experience in life

and i think i remember saying this before but i continue ta stand by my word
if you was from somewhere and moved to a diffrent place in the country
and u notices that u get more love and respect from the place ur at now
ur gonna end up reppin where u live right now...fuck where u came from
aint like he lied bout his past he still was down wit homies on the eastcoast
he was just thrown in the middle of a overrated east-westcoast war
he dissed biggie, mobb deep, lil kim, bad boy, and all that coincidentally
it was personal it wasnt like he jumped on the bandwagon and shit
he had love for the eastcoast..one nation is from the eastcoast
he was doin songs wit them he was gonna create a Death Row East
ta kill off the beef between the west and east..he did as much as he could
pac was no traitor

And gettin shot doesnt make you a gangbanger. Niggas get shot everyday, B. Pull your skirt down. and that other shit was After he signed to Deathrow. Who's founder was a gangmember.

Pac was a traitor
If you spend more than the first decade of your life in a place, thats where you from, he went to the westcoast and hopped on nigga's dicks. He wasnt thrown in between the eastcoast west coast war, the nigga STARTED IT!! WTF? He was going to create Death Row East? I never heard of that.
The point is, fuck his life, fuck everyone that call him a "revolutionary" lmao, which is dumb. Che Guvera was a damn revolutionary, Malcom X was a revolutionary MLK was one aswell, Tupac Shakur was NOT!
He was just a loud mouth drama queen ass nigga that did poetry and had his boys fuck girls in the ass and shit. Real Talk
and his RAPPING ABILITIES, wasnt on Biggie's level.

Dufflebag Boy 11-17-06 02:24 PM

^^i never said bout his rapping abilities being on anyone's level
and whoever said u can never rep the place u live now???
and YES he was gonna start a deathrow east i seen interviews on it
but ehh we all got our opinions but u shouldnt be so quick ta hate on pac

Zone Out 11-17-06 02:28 PM

I understand reppin the place that you're at now
I cant hate on that, I moved to cincinnati but I still reppin detroit
now Im back in detroit and when ask me about the nati I say it was cool, it was straight niggas down there doin their thing
BUT
I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER say "CINCINNATI TIL I DIE, FUCK DETROIT"
Cause I was raised in Detroit, why would I hate the place that Im from?
shit's lame
and I never seen interviews OR heard any shit about that until now, so until you can prove it, Imma deny it.

Dufflebag Boy 11-17-06 02:36 PM

ight i'll send u sumthin on aim ta prove it

btw u back in detroit???? werd must be good ta be home

Young Kidd (LM) 11-17-06 02:38 PM

I rarely agree with Zone, mindstate. but

Pac was a hood-hopper.

Everyone knows that.

Zone Out 11-17-06 02:39 PM

nigga I've been back in Deroit for 4 weeks

*yawn*

I hate it when people say Pac was a revolutionary.. you know, I consider many other rappers revolutionary in the sense you people consider him, it isnt special ..

Past Tense 11-17-06 06:03 PM

"its not where your from its where your at"

Honesty In my opinion I think that pac was better. He had better songs and I can vibe off what he's saying because I can relate to some of the things he says..That Dear Mama track is somthing I can relate to with my mom. Pretty much the same shit happend with me and my mom as in that track as to where maybe some of biggies tracks you could relate to or feel more......I love pac's charisma and the way he did things...I dont know..Its all about opinion and taste..this is an argument that could never be ended.

Dufflebag Boy 11-17-06 06:32 PM

^^hell yea u got good tastes

Well, this thread isn't about Pac vs Biggie...But, anyone knows Biggie's TECHNICAL aspects were "better" than Pacs...Big cud outflow Pac anyday of the week...

Biggie appeals to many people tho....If u ain't feelin his "message" then u ain't feelin it
