If anyone knows anything bout bein an accomplice for shoplifting, let me know. I need to get some education on this.

WhoAmI 12-14-06 06:32 PM

all i know is being an accomplice makes you an accessory to the crime being committed

dunno how harsh the penalty is in relation to the penalty for doing the actual crime though..sorry

Ebircs 12-14-06 07:08 PM

LOL @this......

most of the time shoplifting is a fine...especialy if ur under 18 man.....

unless ur stealing like.....100's or 1000's of dollars worth of shit no one really cares.......

worse thats gona happen is a fine

Sean Gunner 12-14-06 07:48 PM

$150...........

dazy 12-14-06 08:08 PM

u can be kicked out the place and a fine...thats it, no jail time...unless over 1000

Shear Kaughn 12-14-06 08:14 PM

depends the stores policies....all stores a different

Dufflebag Boy 12-14-06 09:17 PM

well i been arrested before for going through cars that wasnt mine
and it was me and 2 of these cats i used ta kick it wit but they didnt do shit
i was the one goin through cars but because they knew what was going on and they didnt try ta stop me they was arrested and charged with being just as responsible for the situation as i was and they got the same punishment as i did..the punishment is up to the judge and the jury but yea ur considered as i heard someone else say in here an accessory of the crime
we was given a choice..it was either come up front and pay a $180 fine
or it was 4 hours of community service and write a 150 word essay why its bad ta go through cars, which is the one i did

accessory to shoplifting is barely even a "crime". my cousin got hit with it a long time ago, doesn't even go on your perm. record.

Sean Gunner 12-14-06 09:46 PM

If it doesn't go on my record then I don't care.

TROUBLESOME™ 12-14-06 11:13 PM

Sean Gunner 12-14-06 11:15 PM

I feel bad for my friend, he is gonna be convicted of a felony.

TROUBLESOME™ 12-14-06 11:23 PM

hell only get probation thou no jail time so fuck it if he under 18 itll be gone anyway if not get a pardon or sum shit its only a theft under 1000 fine

Sean Gunner 12-14-06 11:26 PM

Well problem is he resold the item.

Though I believe they are only pressing charges for selling stolen property.

Nothing resulting in a fine goes on your perminant record.

...therefore neither of you will have a record.

However, the person shoplifting may either be fined, or get extra-judicial measures of some sort, such as community service, if you underage.

The person that was with the person committing the act will only get in trouble (less) if they helped the shoplifter in anyway, eg. pre-meditation, like if you had to do with it somehow.

word.

The US = way harsher penalties.

Diet Coke 12-15-06 01:48 AM

Thrown in the bin for life man, shitty bust.

Ltizzle 12-15-06 02:10 AM

more than likely youll get banned from the place you were at

and either a fine or some community service hours
but all in all
being an accomplice really aint that serious
unless what you were "helping" with was a felony
then itd be just as serious as the crime itself

∆ P E X X 12-15-06 01:25 PM

shop lifting isn't even a felony, so how you gonna go to jail for a felony lol

this shit is hillarious kid.

Dufflebag Boy 12-15-06 03:44 PM

lmao yea u def wont go ta jail like i said either like a fine no more than 200
or some community service and maybe an essay or some shit like that

Sean Gunner 12-15-06 04:21 PM

Everyone missed my post where he SOLD IT.

He sold stolen property, which is a felony.

∆ P E X X 12-15-06 04:49 PM

so your friend is supposedly being charged as an accessory to selling stolen property?

La Cosa Nostra 12-15-06 05:06 PM

Oh god..

You pussy....

Sean Gunner 12-15-06 10:07 PM

Ok...

My friend stole an mp3 player, valued at $150. He sold it to some kid.

Now, had he just stolen it he would be better off, but due to him selling it, he sold stolen property which is a felony.

∆ P E X X 12-15-06 10:43 PM

wow...

first you said he was an accessory to shoplifting, then you said he's an accessory to selling stolen property, now you're saying he's not even an accessory, but the principal in selling stolen property, and you're saying all this is a felony??

not one thing you named with a worth of only $150 is a felony. that's a misdemeanor AT BEST.

dude seriously man, its pretty evident that you're lying. i don't know why (probably to look "cool"), but the more i think about it the clearer it gets that you're fabricating shit.

1. I am an accessory to the shoplifting, not him.

2. Never said he was an accessory to selling stolen property, I clearly said he sold it to a kid.

3. The police officer told him selling stolen property is a felony

So if you are saying the police officer lied to him, then I guess it's whatever. I am tellin ya what the police told him.

TROUBLESOME™ 12-16-06 12:54 AM

yes thats wut were sayin ive done enuff time in tha system..........you r a pussie.....

Sorry for not havin to deal with the law. I'm smart enough to not get caught.

He was the idiot that sold it to some little kid. Worse that happens to me is that I get a fine and community service, but that does not even matter. The cop told him that if convicted of a felony that he would not be able to go to the military, or college for that matter.

So it is a pretty big deal if someone tells you you can be convicted of a felony cuz his plans had been on military and college, both of which disappear if he gets convicted of a felony.

TROUBLESOME™ 12-16-06 05:09 PM

like i said yall r softer than fucking pudding and shoplifting is hardly a crime so i hope u aint get caught.....slang sum crack....or get arrested for brandeshing a and gun.....then mabe but your shook as a muther fucker over tha wackest shit ive ever heard

Sean Gunner 12-16-06 05:12 PM

I over reacted to my situation, I admit that.

But if a cop tells you that selling stolen property is a felony, I think you have a reason to be worried.

TROUBLESOME™ 12-16-06 05:17 PM

yeah but like i said copz alwayz fuck with kidz they know they can freak out

∆ P E X X 12-16-06 06:03 PM

dude if a cop really told you that, about a $150 item, he lied to you to scare the shit out of you. for a felony you gotta steal something at least 400 bucks.

Sean Gunner 12-16-06 06:17 PM

My friend will be glad to hear that.

∆ P E X X 12-16-06 06:57 PM

its at the judges discretion if you'll serve time for a misdemeanor. your boy better act like he regrets his decision on moral grounds, or get a lawyer.

Sean Gunner 12-16-06 07:10 PM

He said his parents are gonna hire a lawyer, but I think he also said he is gonna just plead guilty.

∆ P E X X 12-16-06 08:58 PM

if he's gonna hire a lawyer, his lawyer's gonna tell him how to plead, which will probably be not guilty then he'll work out his approach, talk to the prosecutor blah blah blah they'll reduce it to a lesser charge which'll be a fine and or some restitution in the form of comm service and you're done.

Sean Gunner 12-16-06 09:34 PM

Well, if I can escape community service and a fine I would be even happier.

If he pleads not guilty, you figure I will have to or will I be scot free? I mean, it seems like really they don't care that he stole it, just that he re sold it. I guess it is the store's decision whether to press charges for stealing.

Dufflebag Boy 12-16-06 09:35 PM

*burps* damn that shit tasted like tacos
