What Day Should Verses Be Due?
 

LBL verses were always due on Thursday, but that doesn't mean it has to be the same for this league.

Given that a few other leagues have verses due Thursday, I'm thinking it might be better to pick a different day to avoid conflicts.

I'm personally leaning towards Tuesday. Any thoughts?

Friday, voting ends Sunday, battles up Monday.

I really don't want to do Friday unless a lot of people like it.

Reasoning is that Friday nights most people go out and don't want to stay in to write a text verse. And lets be real, a lot of people wait until the last minute to write their verses so I feel like Friday is a bad day, but we'll see what others think.

I'm going to say MONDAY.

The reason for this is dudes always wait for the last minute to drop a verse and having a verse due at the end of the week results in no shows all the time because dudes are always out on FRIDAY and SATURDAY.

Also, MONDAY does not drop in confliction with any other league. It also would not drop in confliction with dudes voting in other leagues. Because if they are having to vote and drop a verse it takes up more of their time and can result in no shows or poor voting.

If you have the verses due MONDAY it would possibly decrease the amount of no shows, we'll have to see, I think it will though. Also, then the VOTING would be done on a TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY. Again, these are two days that don't conflict with other voting or dropping a verse because most verses are last minute on a THURSDAY or FRIDAY. I think it would fit in nicely and because MONDAY, TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY are the slow days of the week when dudes ain't going out partying or getting drunk all the time, it would hopefully maximise the showing for battles and maximise the voting on battles.

Same argument you made for Monday also applies to Tuesday, but glad to see we're in agreement on one of those two days. I just kinda liked Tuesday better because its more convenient for me to setup matches on a Friday morning than Thursday morning, but either one is fine with me.

I pick Thursday. I'm in four leagues right now, and two tourneys. Three are due on Thursday, two on Wednesday and one on Friday/Saturday. Most leagues out right now are due Thursday, I think it would be easier for people to get all their verses done at once, especially since the type of verses we'll have to write for this league will be completely different from any other, so it shouldn't be a prob.

It really shouldn't matter at all if you fuckers didn't wait to the last minute like no-show win craving homos.

^^ Lots of validity to all that, but unfortunately people do wait until the last minute. Even if the verses are very different, suppose someone has an hour to write and 2 verses to do.. they'll end up spending 30 minutes on each so quality goes down

I can tell you guys one advantage to Tuesday...

with Monday, that means matches go up Thursday, Verses Due Monday, Voting Due Wednesday

with Tuesday, that means matches go up Friday, Verses Due Tuesday, Voting Due Thursday

Thursday morning i can put up matches, but I don't have time to write a mag on thursday so unless I have a lot of time before that which is unpredictable with me, mags will generally end up going up late thursday or friday.

If matches go up Friday, I can get a mag up on Friday pretty easily, I don't have class or work on Friday so my day is free.

Just do whatever you want. Monday or Tuesday, it don't make much difference. Both are different to every other league so just do whatever will benefit you more as a mod.

... if the magazine is the problem, all three of us will be contributing towards it so it will only be a third of what you was originally doing. Also, certain things for the magazine can be done before the week is up anyway. When I used to do mags for the old PLL I used to have most of it done before the end of the week. Why wait until a fresh week to start writing the mag?
