Ok for real Help please!!
I got 200 dollars to spend on a microphone, and I want to know what is the best microphone to record with. Also, I want to know what's the best way to make a home-recording studio?
My cieling is about 12-13 feet high and I have to closets in my room. Also, my room is not exactly sealed off...one wall is about 8 1/2 feet high and their is a gap between it that leads into the next room, if you feel what I'm saying. So help me out, I'd appreciate it. |
Oh yea also, if I don't really have the newest sound card or w/e for my computer could that effect the way my tracks sound or the way my microphone records?
|
get a new soundcard
and i use a mxl v63m and i dont have a booth |
^lol what? I'm not an idiot haha I just want to know the best microphone I can get for that price..
Also, how much you think soundcards are? Or atleast the one you speaking of? |

That is the one I'm looking at? Have any of you heard of it or own it? Plus, you said get a new soundcard, what's a good one to get that doesn't cost me millions lol |
That mic sounded like crap to me even with a M-AUDIO PRO AUDIO INTERFACE
and that there is a 200 dollar interface.... be honest do you have a higher voice,a middle voice,or a deeper voice? |
I don't know lol I am not sure how to determine that, I mean I don't have a squeky pre-puberty voice, but I also don't have a DMX deep voice lol
So that microphone I posted up from Musicians friend is crap? =( |
LMAO @ Rey Rey tryin to snatch up them 2 bills :)
im tellin you fam.... get yourself the samson CO 1..... its the illest starter mic.... cheap and fairly decent quality.... alot of the audio on this site use that model and its serves its purpose well..... when your ready to upgrade... after you got all your mixing techniques and shit down... then get yourself together another 2 bills or so... and post another thread like this :high: www.sweatwater.com ^^^^ no shippin and handling fees.... 80 bucks flat for the Samson CO 1..... G'luck fam -Bronsky |
Appreciate all the feedback, I'm going to use Past Tense's presets/audio process, since I've been using some of Salvador's shit since back in the day..
Also, these are the two microphones I'm torn between.. R0DE NT1000 Microphone and Shure KSM27 Studio Condenser Microphone Any suggestions? |
trust me fuck all that other Soundcard bullshit. Get a fast track USB
|
What does a fast track USB do? I thought those were used for transfering shit between two components
|
LOL that's something else let me link you tho
|
|
So even with an out-dated soundcard this "fast-track USB" will make up for it?
Oh yea, tell me which one you like between the two microphones I am stuck between.. |
Appreciate the link, but I'm still not sure what it is or how much it costs and all that.
So what Apexx was saying is that if I buy one of those two microphones listed above that I would also need to buy... "fast track USB interface (or interface that already has a built in phantom) phantom powersource. 2 XLR cables pop filter." I mean I know I had to also get a pop filter but wtf that other shit lmao |
|
Hmm..well I mean atleast now I know what it is. But what exactly does it do that Adobe can't do? I mean I can get the 48Khz, 24..etc on there.
Do I need those other things we was talking about? Also which one of the two mics I listed would you perfer? |
Aiyo Spul, that USB has bad feedback and ratings from previous buyers....you sure that shit is good?
|
For me it personally boosted my quality tons. But man, i'm not really that big expert on all this audio things. Make a thread in audio assistance or something. Apexx is dude who knows more about it.
|
With that pre your gonna need phantom power source.. I think.. I didnt see it mentioned on that one.. Some of the versions of that one don't, some do is what I noticed when looking for one on musiciansfriend..
