Is anyone joining the military? or even thought about it?
 

Just curious, im bout to join the army right after summer.

I can tell you all the reasons not to, and tell you the only reason you should.


And, I could be upsetting the natural order of this thread with such a post, but, No. I haven't thought I ever would, at least. Which means that this thread isn't directed at me .. I'm sure someone else has though. *splits*

Dabatos is a real ass dude. He talked to me about all the things he should do and tried getting an actual Soldier's perspective instead of a recruiters. This dude actually went to the recruiter and told him he'd been talking to me and asked if I could get the $1,000 they give to military personnel for basically recruiting someone. The recruiter said yes too....lol. Too bad the regulation states that a person with my MOS can't get it :(

Man...If they really want to get people to join the army...tell them if the do they tours they will get a life time supply of gas....or like a 50 or 75% discount...

a sure way to up recruitment is to end the war :)

lol nah, wasn't trying to recruit, was just curious because i wanted to see what yah thought about joining. Im not interested in recruiting, they have recruiters for that.. Imma be a straight ass infantry soldier.

I wanted to join the army...me and a couple of my friends used to work out together all the time and we were all going to join together but the last football game of my senior year of high school my knee got destroyed, the colleges didnt want me anymore, i played full back, i went to the army and ended up with just a medical profile and wasnt allowed to join...shit is mad gay. but since then i have really focused in on my music and shit now big things are happening with that. and i got a baby girl on the way so i guess that army-way just wasnt the path GOD wanted me to be on.

LOL! Nah, its not that they wanted him to join, its just if they believe you won't be able to do your physical duties as a soldier you cant join. In boot camp your going to put a lot of pressure on your knees and a lot of stress on your entire body. They didn't want him to get more hurt than me may have already been.

That still means they don't want him to join . . Conditions or not.

yeah they didnt want him to join because of his physical conditions. What they will put him through in boot camp may only make his physical condition worst which is something the army or even he prolly wants? But if you are physically fit to join they want you to join. Its like a basket ball team. If your good and fit they want you, if you're fit but have something with your knee? The coach wont even let you play because he doesn't want your ass to get hurt and you may only cause more problems for the team.

When you get free medical insurance, free housing, free everything? Nah you're not stupid. I have a homie that is enlisting as an officer and is going to get paid bank for being an officer in the military. The people that sign up or most of them at least know what's coming at them when they join and they know the risks. Just think of it like this, people joining now want to protect the country. If people like us didnt do what we did in WWI, WWII, or the first war we ever had when Washington was in lead, we wouldnt even have this damn country right now. So yeah its stupid that people like us are the reason civilians like you have a country to live in like we do now.

This point might be valid if I wasn't Canadian.

PS: America has NEVER officially won a war. So be glad that you're signing up to fight for a country that calls trying to take things over "protecting" their country.

No, the south Vietnamese government was of Democracy and though we knew they would fall to the north which had China as it's backing, we didn't want to see it, made up reasons and attacked the North, which was like running into a Bee hive. I don't know if you've ever seen the picture of the North/South Vietnam back in the day, but honestly, when I look at it, I get shivers and fucking see ants. I see ants with terrible disgusting power to kill all in their way because their numbers are limitless. The best thing to do in Vietnam would have been to nuke the entire north half of Vietnam. No offense to my readers, seems cruel, but that was a lose-lose unless we had nuked ..

But yeah, please forgive me for joining a military that will allow me to retire at the age of 40 with a pay of $3,000 a month of doing nothing with free health insurance my entire life, and with $400,000 life insurance to give to my loved ones when I get killed or pass away. Yeah its stupid to actually want to serve, protect, and do something for your country bro. What are you doing? I'm already successful bro. I own a franchise with Avis rent a car. Within 2 years i will make more money than your ass can ever make. You try making $160,000 a year. Your ass prolly dont even make a quarter of what i make.
