what are some good tricks for mixing vocals
 

i dub my vocals three seperate times and sometimes one or two words is off or im off a little bit how do i clear that up?

see a professional?

re-record til its perfect.
or

zoom in..edit meticulously until its perfect.

or don't double so much.

The only reason you're having that problem is because you aren't hitting the shit on time. You gotta make sure when you do your back ups that they're 100 percent on.

or you can EDIT THAT SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT n then if you use wrong words copy n paste...dont do it much tho cuz of the singal flow....um use the pencil tool in pro tools to smooth some shit out....plenty you can do


the lazy mans fix, is lower the volume of the dubs, and pan them 100% left and 100% right

that way your main vocal will stand out n the errors will be less noticable...

techincally that would be pretty much more work than just re-recording it imo, that is if you're trying to perfect your craft.

yea i think ill try to hit it on time,i usually can for the most part except i say a word a micro second to early here and there..but i guess im gonna have to look up some tutorials and learn how to mute copy and paste..

yea..... people i record hate punching in, even tho only other rappers can Tell that you punch in pretty much, and if it isnt obvious then even they wont know unless theyre actively trying to find out when you punch in...

my motto, tho, is that if you're spitting 16 bars, you really should only punch in once, or else you'll run the risk of not being able to capture great emotion on the track.... thats unless your flow is ridiculously fast the whole time... but on the other side, you shouldnt be writing a flow that you arent going to be able to perform...
