Raise Your Hand If You're In Debt

So I got a check in the mail for $2,000 yesterday from a company in North Carolina that I know nothing about.

Was I excited? Hell yeah! I'm in debt and I needed money to get me out of debt. So I was gonna deposit it into my bank account.

But hella people told me to call the company. So I did today and I come to find out that they've been getting calls from people in Texas about receiving a check in the mail and that it's a fraud and these checks are fake.

Damn it! Still in debt now.

Hey man, look on the bright side, no matter how much debt you're in, you're in a warm house, on the internet with food to eat.

It's a lot better than other people's situations.

I used to be in debt, I've climbed out and I'll never go back because I've learned how to manage money better and I also make a shit load more than I used to.

But after I got out I felt so selfish for being worried about such a petty thing like owing money when I could be in way worse of a situation.

I'll proudly be in debt in a lil while

but ill get out of it eventually after that.

unlike my dad who has no motivation whatsoever to get outta his debt.

w/e fuck all the bullshit you know, he said he feels like he's not in debt 'cuz he has all the things that Adam is praising, but in that account you have to look at it like this, you never really ever have money, if you're in debt.

Adam 02-13-09 02:09 PM

I'm not saying don't try and get out of debt. I was a few grand deep, but I've paid off all my credit card bills, all my bills/rent are always paid on time and I got there by learning how to manage my money better and like I said, I sort of got lucky because I make a lot more than I used to as well.

I have 3 accounts, 2 I only put money in and never take out so it will be there if I'm ever in dire need and my regular account that I just fuck around with.

All I'm saying is, meh, money is money, it comes and it goes, don't sweat it.

Implicit 02-13-09 02:15 PM

I hear you. I had this good job drawing structural blueprints for construction companies. And then I quit to go back to school. Now look what happens.

School = way overrated haha.

But I hear you. I've been in worse situations than this growing up. But this time I'm on my own and my family can't really help because they're struggling themselves. So we'll see where it goes.

one way 02-13-09 02:17 PM

for real, well said

but fuck I used to be in debt, 2 student loans and I never graduated, car and credit cards.........sold the car scrapped and paid off the credit cards but still have a bug student load, like 12 grand or some shit...........regrets lol

Adam 02-13-09 02:17 PM

Word, see the best thing I ever did for myself was to figure shit out on my own. When I went into debt I could have easily asked my parents, but what does that accomplish? I mean, I don't even have to go out and find my own jobs or go to school, I have a family business that I can take over, my grand parents and parents are wealthy, but I'd rather do my own shit than accept hand outs.

Why do you turn every thread into a childish joke?

Your opinion is worthless to everybody and nobody, NOBODY respects you.

Why do you think you're not with your child's father anymore?

Exactly.

Now go take care of your ugly kid and be a grown up.

I fucking hate kids like you........hahaha, but true that on the handouts........I know too many guys older then me living at home paying no bills while they make more money then I do at a job they suck at but only have because they are the bosses son.......fuck, got a little personal there, lol..........and yea my parents didn't help me at all their advice was dumb and didn't work...but thats a part of growing up I guess, doing things for yourself.

Adam 02-13-09 02:43 PM

Yeah for sure, I spent the ages 16-19 working for my parents than I was like, fuck this life. I got a job at a mill that everybody told me I wouldn't get. Got paid a shit load and was the youngest employee there until it folded, God damn lumber mills. Than I moved from Ontario to Saskatchewan where I'm foreman of a landscaping company in the summers and spend the winter playing poker and writing music.

one way 02-13-09 03:19 PM

haha I landscape too

Instead of turning this into another retarded thread like you always do, just don't post unless you're going to keep on topic.

Implicit 02-13-09 03:48 PM

Yeah I know a whole lot of people who are like 25 living with their parents and not paying any bills. I'm only 20 right now. So I guess I have a lot of time to mature a bit more.

Adam 02-13-09 03:51 PM

Yeah, I moved out when I was 20 and went into debt instantly and stayed there for awhile. Now that I'm going on 22 I've figured it all out and I'm doing just fine.

_Talksic_ 02-13-09 06:51 PM

the systems set up to keep people in debt.and im no exceptoin

La Cosa Nostra 02-13-09 07:58 PM

La Cosa Nostra 02-13-09 08:06 PM

Jay Rose 02-13-09 09:54 PM

Implicit 02-14-09 12:31 AM

Hahaaha! Good luck to that 18k. One thing I will NOT do is take out any loans cause I've seen too many people get messed up off of that.

Jay Rose 02-14-09 02:50 AM

gotta get thru school somehow...i paid till i was out of money than i borrowed....oh well

lyricalflowz 02-14-09 03:05 AM

Yeah, I actually owe the IRS money. I got most of it paid off though so now I only owe them 375. It could be worse though.
