Alright. Yeh yeh I know I start alot of bullshit beef and thus the stupid threads it brings.....

But this is a good "rap battle" topic and could be quite interesting and educational at the same time. So lets keep it like that no?

So......

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A BATTLE?
Be it text or audio. How do you begin your verse? where does the research begin? What is it you aim for or try to exploit? I aint sayin give away gran pa biggies secret's.....but lets discuss and engage. There are alot of people to benefit.

I keep it simple, if I dont know a person well, I wont really pry.......I'll just go after a name,age,location,avatar,sig, and sum times event post count......anything on the surface that everyone can see as a legit punch. Now if I know the man than well it's different........but that's a secret

I will say one thing....if I'm empty....You'll see me sparkin up sum sorta reaction for sum new material. ;)

I used to take pills a while ago but i havent touched that shit in half a year and don't plan to again, they're stupid. I did like every so often days but it was only that one few months stretch of time when I did, otherwise any other time in my life I only smoked weed and thats it.

But yea, I remember freestyling for literally 15 minutes straight on ectasy cuz my friends asked me to bust one and at firs they were cheering me on like OHH, DAMNN!! WHAT!!! and then after 5 minutes they were like yea, cool, ok, nice, and then after 10 minutes they were like dude, shut up, it's annoying now, you've been rapping for too long lmfao

I could write some pretty sick shit on pills tho and go reallyy fast and have the sickest breath control and emotion, I like writing/rapping after smoking too

lately tho If im in a battle here or anywhere else I just write a verse in 15 mins, record it one take and rip someone sober or high on the ganja

An the pills.....I find em when sum one's injured, but I dont get the addiction. They definitely help vocals. Relaxor.

Weed.....well that just injects my mind with crazy flow and lyrics. Can't say I've recorded anything clean for quite some time. And to think....I never touched one drug before 17......

I listen to music that hypes me up, after doing that I just go in and write and write and write, until I have it down right.

yea listening to other rappers rip shit up before a battle is a cool way to get yourself pumped and in the mood

i never really get up for battles, instead i just point out how stupid the other person is and how stupid they look for acting hard through internet battles....

but your on an internet battling site.......thats like me goin to a queer convention an making fun of em for it......if you despise it, dont associate wit em....

im on an internet rap forum where battling is one aspect, and like everything in this world i feel battling had its era....and its kinda pointless online imo....but ill do it occasionally just to make a song or so when i get bored....so i feel my statment still stands true

As far as im concerned, all of its pointless.....serves no divine purpose in my life.....never has, it's simply time consuming hobby. And i'm guessin I'm the only one not lookin to go pro.......but hey...if I was.....I certainly wouldn't be even chatting with a hobbiest like myself

Most of us do. There are people that come on here expecting more than a bunch of musical hobbiest online. Battling a fad? Yes. But I think it's a gateway to creating real music. The fad was hot for like 3 years. Now it is gone.

lemme tell ya......i look at em pictures an i envision one of em jus droppin like no tomorrow.....ouch

With text battling, I guess I have a different approach than people who audio battle because you need a different style.

I generally find the most recent say 3-4 battles of the guy I'm facing and skim them just to get an idea of how good they are. That tells me pretty much the level of quality I need to bring. No point in wasting good punches on below average battlers.

Then I just key up the verse, hitting them with what's on the surface - signature, avatar, username and custom title. I don't go at records or post counts because that is sad. Nameplays, generally no more than 1 every 10 lines. Avatar can bring one punch, I don't generally go for any more than that. Same with custom title. Same with signature, unless they have a long one with a variety of potential.. which in that case I might throw a second punch on it.

The rest is then filled in with standard punches and throwaways if I don't know them. I've battled that much now though that I can get personals on practically everyone. If that is the case, I'll exhaust every personal and if I still need a couple more punches... back to standards and throwaways.

Text - Keep thinking of things until I feel I have something good

Topical - Usually key this, but write sometimes... This is the easiest type of battle for me




Audio - Just freestyle whatever enters my mind

Word, that's stupid though... coz really.. off the top of my head I can think of 2-3 punches on your signature. About 3-4 ways I could play off your custom title. Same with your name. Then there is your avy which is your picture so that leaves it open for a realm of possibilities.
