Future Predictions For Hip-Hop
In five to ten years what do you predicte will happen to hip-hop..
I belive their won't be anymore Ja Rule...instead a protege of his which won't sell and Murder Inc will be in the slums. Their will be a new hardcore clique sort of like Onyx Pop rap will be a fad of the past .....drop your predictions.... |
This is honest, not that I want it to happen but I don't think rap will be as strong as it was ever again.
The only way to keep hip hop alive is get some true emcees and give them some acceptable deals in which they can spit true shit other then "poppin criss" or "ridin on 24's" cuz that shit is allright for parties or one hit wonders but it's trash after awhile. 4 sure Ja will be gone and I only welcome that thought with open arms, he's a fuckin virus in the hip hop community. Him and the Inc can go hide away and sell, "Best of..." cd's till they're old and withered. I think another big killing will occur, it just seems to be a trend(knock on wood) I hope it doesn't but god knows it will in the future. A lot of pop/hip-hoppers will try to gain the young woman's attention (sort of like a Justin Timberlake with an Enyce suit on)It will certainly foul the air waves. Shady records will have drafted another person into their squad by 5 years at the most. They will remain pretty hot for awhile. ROC will lay-off rapping for a little bit, releasing only certain tracks and once again "Best of..." albums. They will focus on fashion...i think. Underground artists will gain more respect (wishful thinking) and a lot of ppl will notice the true talent. I ain't no Ms. Cleo but it's just an images I have |
I am the Phuture Of Hiphop, as my custom text says.
Honestly though, i doubt much will change, there will be the same hip-pop stuff for ther nelly types and the demigodz types for the underground heads. |
White Rappers Will Rule The World
^^^I Had To Say It, Sorry Well In The Next 5 - 10 Years I Hope America Realizes How Much They Fucked Up By Buying The Wrong Product No More - 50 Cent, Eminem, Ludacris, Ja Rule, etc. And They Realize How Much Better The Indie Rappers Are ^^^Well, We'll Have To Just Wait -N- See ~1~ |
i think there will be more white rappers but they won't rule... no shit like b2k...IMX...or anything like that....no fake ass rappers that pretend to be hard but grew up in fancy neighborhoods and went to private schools....no ashanit....or girls who can't really sing but look like whores...nothing like that...hottie will rule the rap and r & b scene...hehe ;)

I predict that someone, namely me, is going to create a religeon that is strongly influenced by Hip-Hop. But is also going to center around early paganism, wicca, native american earth medicine, hiatian vudun, and west african beliefs.
I also predict that turntablism will gain a lot more respect, but I suspect it will be for all the wrong reasons. (Folks'll want to hear scratching but not have a clue as to what it means to mix breakbeats.) I predict that while our current underground artists will go down in obscurity, it will set a path for future artists. There will be more artists, popular artists, that will be like Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, Slug, Eyedea, blah blah blah. There will also be a new female artist. A female rapper who doesn't base her music on acting like a slut with no self respect and a myriad of male and female sexual relations. But will actually base her music on actual talent. And finally, I predict that graffiti artists will start writing on the oceans on huge murals that can only be seen from the sky. B'boy's and girls will incorporate Tao into their philosophy's and Kung Fu and Caporeia into their dance moves. And some Dj will come along and find some real nifty trick that involves three turntables and a sequencer. ~Shalom~ |
yeah i agree with light weight when it comes to not thinkin its gunna be as strong as it is now cuz i mean they got top 40 stations playin rap and im like wtf! play ur own damn white music *no offense white folk*

Yeah and I was reading this post and was like "Damn....somebody doesn't understand how radio operates and knows very little about business and mass appeal"* no offense dumbasses* |
None taken Tiny.
None taken Protoge. SINGLE CELL ORGANISMS SUCK! *No offense amebas* |
Mainstream rap will forever reign. Hip Hop, in my own opinion, died long ago. It died the day 2pac released "Hit em Up". From that point on, beef became "cool and profitable".
As long as suburban kids rebel, rap will exist. Kid have rebelled for decades now... and I don't see it coming to an end. Not to mention with the net, I don't see a "hardrockbattles.com" appearing anytime soon. The day it does appear, I wont be living... |
in 2016 the fall of mainstream hip hop will have officially affected the world.."The Talent Wars" will begin and by 2033, hip hop itself will diverge into two types of underground...
People who sound like Anticon And People who sound like Definitive Jux Until by the Year 3092, all the possible combinations for words will be used up and no original material will be available... then the world will end. Choke and be free. |
Rap has changed once...and it is going to change again for the worse.....more and more rappers will rap just for the mainstream....only few heads will be doing it for the love....so in the future their will be more cash money millionaires...and less and less people like mos def...talib kwali....their will be alot of rich rappers but it just wont be the same......their wont be another biggie or 2pac either....
*shakes head and leaves |

Where Does That Leave The Rest Of The Underground Then...? Dead? |
shady aftermath well own the fucking rap game with a passion
no one else will be able to compete if they get another sign like 50 cent, plus eminem is by far the best rapper out there rite now murder inc will be gone and ROC will be fadin wit JayZ retirin from the game |
Your obviously a Shady/Aftermath crazed fan. If your post didn't give it away, your sig did.
50 cent existed before Eminem, he just didnt have the promotion of a "white boy" to get him out there. Click on any forum here at rb and u will see a "fuck 50 cent" thread. |
Hopefully rappers like Ja Rule, anyone on murder Inc and every southern rapper wil not be around.

Dude u listed Eminem as one of yo influences on soundclick he probably got u in2 Hip Hop not that im hating coz if he hadnt broke it big i would of never found out about this wonderful culture, just tell it like it is, not all indie rappers are great, and anyway if they were selling like Em the majority of us would hate them. Ja Rule and 50 are very wack but i remember this very site giving 50 a 9/10 4 one of his indie albums and people on his dick before he went 2 shady. if eminem was underground yall would be blowing him. take for example someone like Jakki tha Motormouth an aight MC nothing speical yet everyones on his dick coz hes in with MHZ and "underground" truth is Eminem could whoop him. tru the majority of the best are underground but thats because the majority of Hip Hop is underground, just dont be suaded naw wot im saying Blaster, no more hatin just serving the truth:) |

Scarface, the most consistent rapper in the game, is from the south. Considered top 5 GOAT easily... |
It will eventually die out and comeback as another genre of muisc...
|
No need to be scarred people..........I will Save Hip hop
|
i noticed every person that posted in this thread is under 16-17... and has been listening to hip hop for less than 3-4 years.... and are claiming rap/hip hop (same shit) will change and end and all this other nonsense.
what you don't realize.. is you have people who were born into this culture. and this is the only music they can relate too.kind of like me for instance. hip hop was here before you and it will be here after forever evolving for the better. lol... if Def Jux would go platinum.. and got tired of rhyming how they are now and flip their style, you'll turn on them like a bunch of wild manatees.this is a proven and well known fact. |
^^^^^^^
u just backed up 1 of the points i had earliear made, well kinda |
<< 20 years old. :D Hip Hop has already changed once and suffered for doing it. It will continue to change slowly but fans will adapt like they did before.
Baseball = America's past time. Despite many strikes the fans still appreciate the sport. I see Hip Hop in close relation to the aove. |
The UK will have its turn
the West and South has had its go so its just a matter of time before UK blasts, UK Hip Hop is Dope now and Fresh like Old Skool Hip HOp |
I'm 23 years old...been listening to this genre of music since the late 80's...

^^Ok Imm go deeper with this...the next killing will be: Eminem ^If anyone gets killed in 10 years it will be him for a couple of reasons 1) Hes white 2) Hes the most mainstream rapper 3) hes practically begging people to kill him *Peep his hook on Kil You* 4) He says shit that pisses peeps off |
Quote:
yeah, I dont shit will change |
i think if ONE more white rapper can make it then that will prove em isnt a one off, and we will have a chance in hip hop, i been listening for about 10 years but i know the history of hip hop and ahve listened to nearly all the old stuff
|
I think some more Underground will become Mainstream
but it'll be some wack cats like Evidence or Grouch( i dun like em) But Ja wont be here neither will Jay z with his last album comin out, but he'll still be in the biz... Then of course they'll be the "crist poppers" "21 dub men" "holler if you got ice in your friderator", and all that BS 1 |
Another prediction.....Graffiti will surface again....right now it is tucked away in a corner......but it will become more mainstream in the next few years........
|
Seriously....what happened to graffiti?
I predict that Hip-Hop will return to a pure poetic form, in which people will stop trying to front and be hard asses and everyone will just go to concerts and shit to have a good time. Wack artists will dissipate. |
^ true, hip-hop needs to return to the words, not the shootins. although i like the beef between artists and disses on tracks
|
neptunes will still make hot beats. I can guarantee that.
|
nothing happened to graffiti!!!!
:D that'd be tight to see some new shit in b'boyin... predictions?.... there will be fads...alot of fads...eventually it will distort "rap"...but real heads will be able to distinguish so dont fret...and perhaps the underground will become mainstream and a new underground will emerge more based on poetry symbolism and extended metaphors as opposed to punchlines/battling<---sounds like a pussy futue... but in all reality i dont know... |
I may be ignorant but Rap will rise to great heights again on all platforms (Underground Mainstream will all be quality (: O) and then it will just dwindle down back to a little better then now, ehh but i AM ignoratn so fuck white rappers from the burbs...and the hood 1luv.

50 Obie and Jin

someone is gonna get murdered and once again the tupac biggie event will happen. it will make hip hop look horrible. i hope it doesnt get too famous with stupid pop music artists tryin to be rap like timberlake. And all the racial issues will go away and will knock out every other type of genre. hopefully less violence so that it doesnt make them look bad and make it more poetic. no more fake ass emcees. i dont want rap to become famous because of a white boy. eminem yeah hevis really tight but if you think about it, what if there was no eminem. would hip hop be huge and make the black people look horrible. we need this to stop as people seeing a white boy rap so they listen to the music. and no more jumpin on white rappers for saying disgusting stuff even though black rappers have been sayin it for years. no more judging that rap is bad and showing that rap is real music and not fake like a lot of parents complaining. and the advisory sticker will be gone. all rappers will be treated equal and no more people listening to rap because its just famous. listen to it for the real reasons that you really like. and not just listen to famous rappers but other underrated rappers. not all the shit mtv shows and look at how bet shows underrated rappers. and more underrated rappers will rise up.
